I lost mine as soon as I had to do an upgrade. Now tomorrow I am switching to ATT

Yep that's how they got around the rule. At first they said you were grandfathered in. Then they slowly started to force people to tiered data plans by saying you can only keep unlimited data if you keep your current phone or buy certain lower grade smart phones. Any top grade phones like iPhones or Samsung Galaxies do not qualify and force you to get a capped data plan.

In the end the corporation will always get their way. Have fun with ATT they will require you to use tiered data plans too but you'll have worse cell coverage. I'd stick with Verizon personally. You get what you pay for and unfortunately they have a monopoly on coverage and reliability.

Threw the phone, I do most of my music and radio threw my phone. It comes on as soon as I get in my truck some times I plug it in if Im driving more than 30 minutes.

Why are you throwing your phone? Sounds like an easy way to break it...

I am leaving because my service at home is unsatisfactory. it takes 3 attempts to send a text from my couch. I live at the very edge of town and ATT has better coverage there.

Oh ok that makes sense then.

I don't allways prof-read. By the way ever hear of a 1970 Mark Donohue Special Javelin, I had one of those 390 and all, the one car I should held on to.

HD Radio is completely independent of XM and has no effect on the XM listening experience. The XM signal is received by the small antenna mounted to your truck roof. HD/AM/FM radio signals are picked up by the tall antenna mounted to your hood. As for your MyLink system, XM, AM, and FM are different "sources" or inputs going into your radio. HD Radio is the ability for the radio to pick up certain frequencies that a non HD radio can not pick up and process. HD Radio is not it's own input source going into your receiver, but rather the ability for the AM or FM source to pick up alternate AM and FM frequencies that have a higher sound quality and clearer reception.

Separately, your audio quality is also governed by the actual equipment in your truck. For instance, replacing the stock speakers with aftermarket speakers will improve the sound quality. Completely replacing the MyLink system with an aftermarket audio system will also improve the sound quality.

I meant comparatively... my experience is that HD Radio has considerably better sound than XM... Thus offering HD Radio potentially degrades the perceived value of XM when you have two signals available for you to compare "head to head" in the same vehicle.

Oh ok well in that case I disagree. I think HD Radio sounds way more compressed than XM does.

As long as you purchase a new smart phone at list price thru verizon you will not lose your unlimited data. If you choose to purchase any verizon smart phone new or used and install your sim card, you will still keep your unlimited data. If you have lost your unlimited data, a person can purchase an unlimited phone/number off ebay and activate it on your plan. My son did this and uses it as his home router, used 103GB last month.

No prob, just giving you a hard time. I sure have, almost painted my 70 the racing color combination (red, white and blue) since we add the go pack hood and donohue spoiler. Had a 73 401 AMX before that and always had a thing for the rebel machine. Wonder what AMC would have looked like today, a Javelin fighting the Camaro and mustang would have been awesome! You would have had a real gem on your hands if you kept it. We all have one of those cars though.

Back in the mid seventies when I had mine, a guy I worked with had a 72 440 GTX with a six pack. He made it very clear that hot rod mag. called it the fastest production car in 72. He called my car a Rambler. One day we had a rain out, going to the shop we met up. All those days of him calling my car a Rambler he never looked under hood, one of the most rewarding days of my 20s, car wise that is.

Well I'm not too sure what this all means for Canadians. We don't get Verizon or ATT so 4G wouldn't help at all. Would this have any effect on Bluetooth to my phone? I probably wouldn't renew Onstar after my initial period is up anyways.

I'm still having a hard time deciding whether to take the 2014 the dealer ordered for me to look at (no commitment to buy), or just order a 2015.

This is interesting. AT&T here in Northeast Ohio is a joke. I can't get reception if I sit and inch to the right so a couple years ago we switched to Verizon I still have my unlimited data but if I upgrade now or make any plan change at all I will lose it. Lying fools. I wonder if Verizon did something similar to GM tracking everyone's cars 24/7 probably sends lots of data communication and now Verizon wants to bill them by the gig haha.

I know that we all have our own unique sense of hearing, but I have to respectfully disagree. If you think HD radio sounds more compressed than XM, you have probably never heard HD radio.

I'm no HD-radio fan boy. HDr has been frustrating for me. Like so many others, I keep experiencing the station going in and out of HD. This constant switching makes it worse than just listening to plain FM. But when I'm parked I tune in one of the two sub-channels of my only local HD station. This is some to the best listening I do anywhere, and I have an good home system.

I'm picky about sound quality. To my ears, the order of sound-quality sources from best to worse:

HD radio

CD

FM

XM

AM

I know there are other sources. I just don't have any experience with them. I've been meaning to pick up an Ipod to load up with high bit-rate copies of my extensive CD collection. If I leave it plugged in, in my console, It might be just the thing to bring a selection of good sound-quality to my truck.

Despite the poor sound quality of XM, I just subscribed for another year as my 3 month trial had ended. Elizabeth Cook on OutLaw Country is worth the whole cost to me.

Any chance the 2015 trucks will get the keyless entry and keyless start that the 2015 Yukon has right now? Once you have that on other cars, so hard to go back. (I know, first world problems)
