Everyone-

Spurshot is correct, if you are running extra lights up front for additional lighting you will need to have them going to the High Beam signal. I will be eventually adding a 20 LED light in the slot above the license plate for Deer Season purposes, and at that point I will only run that through a relay and turning on when only the high beams are on.

However, if you are like me and just want the fogs on no matter what, and especially when the parking lights are on run it through the #22 slot. I confirmed it this morning on the drive to work that as soon as I fired the truck up the fogs were on, and I switched to High and Low beam several times while driving in. No issues at all. Like I said before best 0.50 cent modification I have ever done.

Im am wanting to do this same mod to my truck with the 20" bar, i have it hooked up to a switch in the cab now, but i would rather have it kick on when i turn on my high's. How do i hook up to my high relay?

Tried to do this mod tonight and it was not that easy. After a few failed attempts, I decided to leave alone for now. Any tricks to this to make it easier? I'm using the RadioShack IN4001 like recommended.

I ran a feed from the high beam fuse to a relay to interrupt power in the led harness works good no cutting of factory wires and all under hood takes about 20 min

If a simple wire was used for this mod instead of the said diode, would this cause an issue?

Yes, because then you would not be able to activate your fog lights without also turning on your high beams

Makes sense now that you said that. Going to have to give the diode another shot. Worse case I'm thinking I put the diode in between a wire since the flimsy diode ends are my biggest issue.

I am having the same issue and will likely end up doing the same thing. Might even redo my reverse lights on w/ cargos with a wire so they both work whenever the other is turned on.

New to lighting mods. Picking up rigid d2 driving lights for fogs. Any advice on how to always have fogs on with high beam with the option to use the switch to shut off if necessary on low beam.

Simply read back through this thread and install the diode between the highs and fogs. It will work exactly like you want.

Best $1 mod ever! 10-18 let's u fully control the light except when your fogs are off and u turn on the high, the fogs automatically come on! (No big deal) I finally got around to doing it today. Here's mine and for others to see how it works. Thanks fondupot for the diodes!

What I want is the DRLs, parking and Fogs to work all together like the DRLs. Meaning, with switch set to auto, those three work in tandem as DRLs. Whether dark or bright, regular lows still turn on/off automatically.

Yes, I know I can just turn the parking lights and the fogs on using the switch, but I'm lazy and just want it to work that way all the time.

For me, it goes back to riding motorcycles and being conspicuous. Just about every car these days has DRLs, so in addition to adding some LED driving lights behind the grill, I want these to all act as DRLs. Hopefully to stand out just a bit more than the masses.
