What other cars in recent history (last 3 years) have issues with buffeting with the windows UP across the entire generation (not just a few complaints)

I think you're causing confusions

Seems to me the confusion on your part resides with your poor reading comprehension. Note my excerpt and you will note I stated "when certain windows are DOWN." "Virtually every car/ truck built within the last thirty or more years exhibits harmonic buffeting when certain windows are down". but, no worries, these days we are all guilty of just scanning instead of actually reading. And how many have folded the mirrors in to see how the racket abates? There's no dispute about the existence of a problem and GM would surely like to find the source. Not to be a pest but I've read reams of complaints with little research as to the source. It's far too easy to blame GM and yes they should have caught this at the wind tunnel but it's evident at this point that griping about it is hardly the cure. Meanwhile, I'm going with trial and error. I'm with you on this Boaz, because maybe this pig just needs more lipstick.

I did, among other things. It didn't influence any of the 3 problems I had.

This thread is about the issues happening when windows are UP

Your comment about how every car does this when windows are DOWN doesn't help anyone

Replace your original reply with "the sky is blue" and would be just as helpful to this thread

Virtually every car/ truck built within the last thirty or more years exhibits harmonic buffeting when certain windows are down .. So, this condition is not unique to GM trucks and suv's for sure.

GM is the only one that deserves the blame

Gathering evidence from others, sharing experiences - griping if that's what you call it - is the only way that most here are getting educated and getting buybacks as GM is telling some/most that the "vehicle is operating as designed" hoping they go away

Im not sure why you're spewing so much emotion over this. But, nevertheless I'm not trying to clean up anything. You're the one doing the clean up. If you disagree, provide some facts. Otherwise, your comments carry no more weight than mine. Btw, your comment stating that I'm causing confusion is an attack on the intelligence of the folks who are on this thread. You appear to be one of those pink'o, liberal, elitist socialist to me. The folks on this thread are quite capable to think for themselves without you censoring posts for them. I'm not sure why you, who doesn't have a vehicle with this issue (the pickups have vibration but not the buffeting) is calling into question 160 pages of complaints since summer 2014

From your article, a GM spokesperson offered a solution to open the sunroof or front window to alleviate the problem, which doesn't solve the buffeting from this thread

I detailed my fixes a bit back in this thread where you can read more details.

Buffeting fixed by getting all tires road force balanced to 15lbs or better (my worst is 12lbs).

Booming fixed by installing exhaust dampers.

Vibrating fixed with a rear axle replacement.

Thanks, I read your post. Are you satisfied with the results? Do you feel that it is a permanent solution? I was hoping for stories from people who haven't posted yet but I appreciate the reply.

The root cause (chassis too sensitive?) hasn't been addressed but I can at least control the input (tires) now that I know what it is. If this means a few extra road force balances over the lifetime of the vehicle, then so be it. A quality tire sure seems to make a difference too.

It's an awesome truck otherwise.
