New to GMC, 110v outlet issue

Went to plug in my phone charger (2 prong) into the 3 prong outlet on the truck for the first time today, and any 2 prong plugs will not insert into the plug in. Is this normal? I grabbed my extension chord 3 prong plug and it plugged in fine.

My F150 would take both types with no issue, so just wondering if this is by design or if I need to have this replaced under warranty? Seems rather odd to me that they wouldn't allow a 2 pronged plug to plug in to this outlet.

THanks much in advance.

Not normal. My wife charges her iphone using the two prong wall plug all the time in my truck.

May be that the plug is polarized and you need to rotate it 180 degrees.

Should work just fine. My sister uses the 110V in my truck to charge her phone whenever she's in the truck.

I only use the 110v to plug my iPhone. It's a two prong wall cord. You've got an issue for sure.

Mine works fine, but there is a very loud relay that can be heard closing behind the instrument cluster, once I plug something in.

I am curious about the AMP Rating on the Fuse for the 110v.

I was being the curious sort, and plugged in my laptop 'transformer'.which is ~2.5A input.

so - approx 300 watts... blew the fuse immediately.

can't find a spec on the fuse Anywhere - and sorry, no i don't know where the fuse for it is either.)

any help?

as for the 2 vs 3 prong... i have not seen a problem with wife's plug in charger.

I plugged in my 13inch MacBook Pro and 11in Vaio UltraBook (separately of course) both worked fine and charged.

The 1st time I attempted to plug in my phone charger it wouldn't go in. On the 2nd attempt I pushed a little harder and lo and behold it went in!! And the green charging light even came on! I thought to myself what a big dummy I was! LOL

Ha! That was my problem too, but was too embarrassed to admit it! My past experience has always said not to force it, so I didn't want to break it on the first day I had the truck!

Thanks all.

Mine blows the fuse whenever I plug something in, my phone, ipod, laptop, what a worthless pc. of s$%t plug, the fuse is on the passenger side of the dash and the panel is real hard to get off, I wont try it when its -30 out here. You would think that the plug would have an inverter with about 1000 watts. Needless to say, I bought an inverter to run my laptop.
