Door chimes and stereo amplifier

Hello! I have a 2005 Chevy Silverado and by different forums, this is common.

The chimes are very light (have to put my ear on the left front speaker) and stereo is "tinny"....

Ok, I'm guessing it's the amplifier, but cannot find anything for an OEM replacement part.

I have other issues like stepping motor (should have been a recall on this but wasn't) and the air diverter only blows on windshield and fan don't run on 5 (high) tho the other day, it did but volts dropped and smoke rolled, and the back doors don't always lock either remote or on the door switch.

Anyway, I'm getting away from my main problem, the amp....

Is it called anything special? No onstar or Boze...and where is this elusive little critter at?

BTW, fuses are ok, and occasionally it does work fine but getting farther between working times...

Thank you!

Well it isn't "easy" but the torch and sawzall can most likely stay in the toolbox. You do have to remove the center console. The console can be removed with the seats still in you just have to move them to the full forward position

It is called an Amplifier it is located under the center console towards the rear mounted to the hump,

If he doesnt have bose, he shouldnt have an amplifier

The warning chimes work tru and are generated by the radio.

The radio is prob. toast. and on its way out.

Check your owners manual to see if that year has the chime adjustment thru

the DIC controls. My 04s chimes were adjustable but my 07s were not.
