wornout key fob

Recommended Posts

It looks like you may be using your finger nail instead of the pad or your finger to press the buttons. This will wear out the rubber much faster. But that thing looks 20 yrs old.

Damn Scott, I hope you didn't look that bad at 20 years old!

Damn thats messed up. My key still looks brand new, it's about 1 year old.

Like others have said either it was a bad batch of rubber or something got on it to cause the rubber to break down.

sorry if you felt offended but....it certainly looks as if someone abused it and if not you then who? if someone handed my truck key fob back and it looked like that I think I'd notice it immediatly which led me to my original response.

bottom line, go buy you a new one as the condition of yours is without a doubt an exception to what would be considered normal "wear".

Anybody found a manufacturer of silicone or plastic key fob covers yet?

I searched and searched and couldn't find one for these fobs yet.

Got sick of the fob smacking on the steering column so just using the fuzzy side of velcro for now.
