2014 Silverado will not start

OK, this is the third time this has happened. I picked the truck up in Nov 13 and with 440 miles on it the ECM module failed and left me stranded on the side of the road. In March 14 when I went to start the truck it hesitated and the check engine light came on and said reduced engine power. It was running on 4 cylinders. Took it to the dealer and they "thought" it was a relay and NO ONE including GM has it. Today the truck would not start. It turns over, but will not fire. Had to have it towed to the dealer and of course since today is Labor day, no one is working. Has anyone had similar problems with their 2014 Silverado? I think I get a LEMON!!!

Unfortunately, If I had a no start issue like this.. I would lose all confidence in the truck real fast and sell it... especially if it happened more than once. After all ....starting up is the most important thing

Issue like this ( likely computer related) are real difficult. Sometimes the dealer can throw new parts at the problem for months before they get it right. But you will always be stuck with the "no start" thoughts in the back of your mind. Hell it could be some random pinched wire somewhere they will never find. Either way, this isn't a common issues... you just got luck of the draw which happens with any mass produced vehicle.

Sorry to tell you we all bought lemons when we bought these trucks!

Sorry I couldn't refuse sayin that line. Wow your truck has failed you 3 times since November.

Most people that had issues with no start or intermittent conditions resulted in bad harness or fuse box change.

Some had issues with fuel system failures at or in the engine too.

Let us know what they find, or what they fix, we are all interested in knowing.

Good luck.

No lemon here. Love my truck! Zero problems just turned 7,000 miles best vehicle I have ever owned.

Yep, 10,500 in mine with the only issue being the radio reception. Been a great truck so far.

The dealer told me today it was a ignition relay that was bad. Had to overnight it. The truck has 42000 miles (work truck) on it and chevy would not pay for the service. UNBELIEVABLE!!!

Has everyone forgot the main reason why most people buy new trucks . How about "piece of mind?" From the polls on here it looks like an approximate 80/20 split with the 20% being duds. Some of us are having legitimate issues and are getting nowhere. Why are the ones with their perfect trucks quick to dismiss or attack the owners with problems? Yes I understand that everything man made will have its ups and downs ,but. DAMN!!! this is getting out of hand. Ive bought 5 new Silverados in the last 7 years. All were great except the 2014s. I really, really, want to love this truck . I do not want to drive anything else. I expect a few first year problems. Don't really mind being a Guinea Pig. But coming from someone who's sick and disabled "peace of mind" means a lot.

Give GM some time to work out the bugs. Might take a few years. Until then, keep your odometer under 36k miles at all costs.

So far its been over a year and two different 2014s. I buy new for dependability not for 'OPERATING AS DESIGNED" or "COULD NOT DUPLICATE" when you know perfectly well GM is aware of these issues.

The company I work for gives me a new (loaded) Silverado every 3 years. I've had a 2005, 2008, 2011 and a 2014. I average 60,000 miles a year on the trucks and never had any (major) problems with the previous models. The 2014 has been a LEMON from the getgo and GM KNOWS it. My company has stopped placing orders for new Silverados until these problems are worked out.

Yeah, our only real option is to trade these 14s in and take a loss. What private buyer in his right mind is going to pay a decent price. I had a 07 classic,07 new body style, 2012 z71, 2014 2wd, and now 2014 4x4 c/c. All were perfect except the 14s. I am definitely not a GM hater. It just feels wrong to drive anything else. Maybee GM should have spent more real world testing and less time designing the Battlestar Galictia Cylon MyLink center stack. By the way my truck has been in the service dept going on three friggin' weeks. Im not getting that warm and fuzzy feeling that my truck is in good hands. I PMed a GM rep last night, so far crickets.....Feels like Im dealing with Comcast. Sorry 'bout the hijack.

Why do people with a working truck always have to wave the "my truck is perfect' flag on a thread about a problem? Do you like rubbing our noses in it that you got a good truck and we didn't. If you don't or didn't have a problem go and enjoy your truck before it turns into the same pc of crap we bought.

there is not a manufacturer out there that does not have their own problems , I have a 2014 Silverado I have a few little issues that I need to have addressed and hope I don't have any big problems , but even if I did I still would not drive anything different .

I'm all gm. I have owned and worked on about every car out there . I've been working on cars ,trucks and tractors for over 35 years

and like I say they all have their problems .
