Just picked up my 2015 Sierra 1500 Denali

Here's my new truck that I just took delivery of on Saturday night. 2015 5.3l Denali, CC, 4WD, cocoa dune interior, sunroof, driver alert, trailer pkg, 22" black GMC wheels, black mud flaps, GMC tri-fold hard tonneau cover and rear under seat storage.

Put a little over 200 miles on it yesterday and I'm happy to say everything seems to be in good order. The only issue is the TPMS went out about 10 miles from the dealership on the ride home Saturday night. On the highway, this truck is as smooth as butter and almost deadly quiet inside the cab at speed.

I have to agree with the posts on here about the headlights being a bit weak. I found them to be terrible with the dash lights at full bright. Dimming them down as low as they can go was a measurable improvement, but not as good as I expect for a high-end vehicle with current technology. My take is that they're good, but not great. Seems like the amount of light is adequate, but they should be pointed a degree or few higher.

Sorry for the website build pic, but that's the best I have for now. The black wheels really pop more in real life. By the time I finished washing it yesterday evening, the light was too low for quality photos. The truck looks every bit as good as I had hoped and I'm really happy with my choices.

The truck is going back to the dealer on Wednesday for a color-matched spray-in bed liner (it will match the diamond tri-coat) and 3M protective film on the front. I bought the truck and plan to pass it along to my son in 5 years when he's old enough to drive, so we're looking forward to a good, long-term relationship with it.

Dang I was exited to hear about a 6.2L and the 8 Speed, and then I forgot you can get a Denali with the 5.3.

However, your truck has the magnetic ride control right? I bet that is smooooooooOOOOooooooth.

Congrats on the truck

That is one sweet ride... congrats. Aren't the new Sierra Denalis still AWD like the last two I have owned/own (2008 & 2011)?

They are not. They have the standard 4x4 system like all the other trucks.

Interesting and thanks. Looks like I have some reading up to do on the new ones.

Get ready for the recalls.lol

I'd rather have recalls than stuff broke or safety issues I'm unaware of. Those are the issues they are owning up to, and that's a good thing. Most of the time folks are taking issue when they don't, can't have it both ways.

Good luck buying any vehicle now that doesn't have recalls. The reasons we think there are so many, because we have to deal with them.

Thanks for the welcome and the compliments.

As far as I know, this truck does have the magnetic ride control. I have only owned smaller trucks and SUVs to this point, along with one car that I'm currently ending a lease on. This is my first full-size truck and the ride is as smooth as anything I've ever owned, especially on the highway. I'm very impressed with it so far.

As far as recalls, I'm not concerned at this point. I've bought plenty of vehicles over the years and they've all had recalls of one form or another along the way. They've tended to happen more as these vehicles have become more complex, and no brands seem to be immune.

I have a little bit of learning left to do on the finer points of the truck, but I will get there. Just today, I was playing with the dash readout settings and I found you can display tons of data on the "info" section, such as which wheels are currently engaged and what % lean the truck has fore/aft and side-to-side. I believe there are up to 16 different data points that can be displayed, including several on average fuel economy.

Still getting used to the interaction with the infotainment system, voice commands, etc., but it seems pretty intuitive.

Very happy so far!

Thats what I'm hearing too.

Frankly I don't consider this a bad thing, although the AWD was cool, the 2010-2013 denalis suck gas like its goin out of style. They're fun to drive though!

Can't wait to see the real pics. Stock image looks sweet.

I would be curious to see some pics of the in dash info display? How many themes so you have, still 3? Just reading your post again and what's the deal with the % lean. Sounds like a bunch has been added, kind of sucks we can't upgrade the software. But if are getting all that extra data there must be a bunch if new sensors and stuff or maybe it's in the magnetic ride control. Sounds pretty cool.
