If you think about it, putting a whole new axle in doesn't mean the specs were what they should be. On the other hand their problem could be something else.

But what are the chances they would have the exact same issue after install unless it was something else causing it. I heard that someone was getting a 2015 rear end but didn't catch the results after installation. Regardless when a truck gets fixed its definetly a plus.

I wonder how many people have or had a second 2014 (buyback, trade assistance, etc) and it has or had the vibration/shake.

You posted the fix for your truck, some people had the entire rear end changed and it didn't solve their shake/vibration.

Glad to hear yours is fixed though.

What kind of shake did they have? The 40 to 50 mph, from what I have read, is rare compared to the 60mph+ shake. The high speed shake is probably caused by a different defect, likely tranny or torque converter. If GM replaced differential and axles on trucks with the high speed shake then the shake is still there.

I am grateful that GM fixed my truck, but if I knew then what I know now, I'd wait to make the purchase. This forum has been very helpful, but also depressing. I've been driving (mostly) GM for over 50 years, and never had this much trouble right out of the showroom.

Mine has the high-speed shake as well [emoji17] dealer has been no help trying to fix the issue so I gave up for now, too much of a waste of time

ok I finally got around to uploading my vibration videos.

I did a second one because in the first one, traffic wouldn't allow me to show how the vibration never hanged as I switched lanes

please, everyone with these vibrations needs to do similar videos and file with NTSHA and BBB as well as find a good lemon law lawyer in your state because in 9 out of 10 cases you WILL have to take it all the way and having your own video proof goes a long way to dispute GM claims of it being a "minor" vibration they don't notice. GM is playing hard ball and refusing to do the right thing by customers unless they are forced to.

Wow... That vibe is the worst I've seen. Good luck man hope you get sorted out.

So far the only thing that has helped is contacting the BBB. And its still going to be a long ride.......

that's what I thought too until the BBB told me "well we just make sure a GM mediator looks into it and determines if you have an issue, we cant make them buy it back"

so I hope you get lucky but unless the service dept spelled out in specific writing on the service ticket that it is a GM warranty issue and they cant fix it, then you will be denied and need a lawyer before it is over. if any of those tickets claim its a normal condition you will get no positive results dealing with BBB and GM but you still need to go through the process.

keakar, it stinks that you have had to take it that far, and I hope that GM does a better job of standing behind their products and makes it right for you.

I've been lucky so far with no issues, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it stays that way. I test drove a double cab, and it did have similar vibrations to yours.

Good luck!

Believe me, BBB always knows where their "funding" comes from

well to be fair they are just a watchdog group that gives "reports" about companies so they have no real power and there really is nothing they can do about anything except give a generic report that "some" customers have unresolved complaints which as we all know any business has a few of those.

until people start making more noise and getting "public" on youtube, facebook, and all that, they can keep the general public ignorant to how they are treating customers.

I went into this not expecting much since the fox (GM) is in charge or dealing with the complaints from the chickens (us) about being treated badly by the fox

I understand completely but a lot of people are in the middle of buy backs and trade in assistance offers, so they are reluctant to make waves right now. Some may have signed disclosure statements also. That's probably why there Is currently little activity related to this issue on you tube, facebook, and other social media sites.

We can't even get all the members with 2014's to vote in this poll. I see complaints on this forum from some members related to this topic but they still haven't voted. I doubt you will be able to convince very many to make a you tube video.

My 2014 Sierra got a replacement 2015 rear end. The results were - NO MORE vibration between 40 and 50 mph. The gearing in the differential was way out of specs on the first unit.

    • I am having similar issues.. 08, 4.8L granted I did had a fender bender and minor damage up front passenger side but I don’t think it had anything to do with it.. I had the high and low pressure checked and my fan for my radiator keeps coming on.. replaced the pressure switch and don’t want to keep throwing parts at it. I did have some minor problems here and there like on long road trips sometimes the ac would get a little warm and then on the highway as soon as I give it a little gas or get a little heavier on the petal it started running cooler. Never had an issue with the ac besides the here and there.. but I also started having issues when I fuel up now it takes a bit to start ( super embarrassing) it runs fine and once started ( only happens after fueling up) starts fine any other time. Could they be related?
    • Spent a small fortune on fuel this weekend.   $6.69 diesel, 18 gallons of that. $6.99 92-octane ethanol free, 10 gallons of that for yard machines $5.59 87-octane for one of the cars, 11 gallons.   $250+ and I didn't even get a tug.   Hormuz ain't Hormuzin again, did not see that coming...LOL
    • Appreciate the advice. I've watched multiple videos. Most showing the most complex for those that have a center console, to one that showed maybe 2 pieces of trim being removed, like 6 screws, pulling back the screen and switch assembly, and installing the inline module. And this was a new/newer Silverado. That didn't look too bad. All the others show alot of trim pieces that need to be removed. I've broken those kind of tabs/clips on my C8 Corvette trying to get to the battery, and that was a lot less clips than what I think is involved here after watching multiple videos and looking at my dash today. I have one on the way. Called a reputable stereo place about installing it and got a "minimum" price of $175. Ouch! Looking forward to seeing what the instructions have to say.
    • Hard to say what the issue might be. Anything from the ability to cool the AC condenser up front, to blend door issues in the HVAC unit, to refrigerant charge, to compressor issues or issues in the lines.   Report back what the techs find on the 29th.   GM has service publications which list acceptable vent temperatures and AC pressures at given ambient temps and humidity. They probably won't touch the system if it's operating within those ranges.   I'm also surprised to hear your 2024 with the L8T is still using R134a? I was pretty sure the HD's had switched to the new refrigerant around 2020.
