Would those have the infamous shake or vibration issues, agree that a front passenger would be able to feel it as well?

Again, the only minor vibration like feeling I have gotten is within in the steering wheel and it just feels like a normal feedback from the road and the tire\wheel combo. My front passenger did not feel anything of this manner.

Thanks in advance.

for those with the most common vibration issue, adding a passenger reduces the "feel" of the vibration because the body weight is holding the seat down so it cant move as much so often trying to get someone to ride with you to feel it isn't going to have the same strong feel as when you are by yourself.

the steering wheel or pedal vibration issue is very different from the most common and unfixable floor and seat vibrations so it is possible yours might be fixable if you find a dealer willing to try.

I bought a 2014 Silverado 1500 2wd LT Z71 in January. Stiff as a log wagon. It started vibrating and shaking more noticeable at 35-45 MPH and then 73 MPH and up. I changed the wheel and tires 3 times and no difference. I took it to the shop and they said it was the wheels. I took the wheels back and had them double check the balancing. It was fine. I then took it back to the shop and they had it for 5 weeks, changed out the drive shaft, output house shaft, and the whole rear end, no change. I was going on vacation so I ask to get a trade assist or buyback. They told me I could get $31000 for my truck a loss of $7000, they said if Chevy did a buyback they would subtract mileage and other stuff and I would only get $31000 anyways. So I traded it in and upgraded to a 2015 1500 Silverado LTZ 4x4, which added $15000 to my payoff. The new truck drove good for one day, then started vibrating and shaking just like the 2014. But also this new truck had a transmission issue. Driving around town its always in too high a gear, it driving like stick shifts about how the shaking a truck does when the transmission is too high a gear and very sluggish no power. Took the truck to the shop again, they said it was driving as normal. So now driving around town it shakes and spits because too high a gear, then when you get to 35 MPH it starts the shaking, then driving on the interstate it shakes above 73. I get sick every time I drive this truck, literally. Plus the disgusted feeling of spending $50000 and stuck with this for the next 6 years.

Does anyone know if they make a programmer to fix the shifting on 2015 yet?

Hi Guys,

The vibration I currently have I also notice in the steering wheel only. 45 mph to roughly 55 mph. I just had new LT tires installed at the dealer and that cleared up any slight shake the truck had. It is not a horrible shake, but it is noticeable by me. Its just irritating because you dont expect this out of a 6 month old truck. My 16 year old Tahoe has sight vibrations here and there but nothing like this.

Your shake sounds like it is in the tires. They either need to be trued or were not balanced correctly.

Just purchased a left over 2014 LT 4x5 5.3. Reading this thread scared the hell out of me so I had to do some extensive test driving with it. Luckily I am not experiencing any of the vibration that some members on here have. I do have a slight tire hop at around 80 mph but that is because of the Goodyear SRA tires these trucks come with. They are absolute JUNK and we refuse to sell them at our family's tire shop.

For what it's worth, my truck was made in 8/14. Good luck to all having issues, it is very disheartening to hear. This is my first Chevy I have ever owned after 2 Toyota trucks, hoping I have good luck with it.

I don't know if I'm experiencing what you guys are or not.

2WD - no shake or vibration.

In auto 4WD, hard acceleration goes through a few seconds where I can feel it vibrating. (maybe 10 to 35mph?) Then it goes away and drives like normal.

Is this the vibration issue everyone is talking about? I just assumed the second gear ratio isn't close enough to first gear and it's stumbling from the drop from 3.42 to whatever, looking for torque.

You dont have to be stuck with that vibrator. I felt the same way about my vibrating 2014. Sick to my stomach that I might be stuck with it. File a complaint with BBB, check my signature for a link. Im almost to the end of the process and I WILL make GM buy it back, going all the way to lemon law court if I have to.

I've owned my 2014 Silverado Double Cab 4x4 Z71 5.3 for a month now and currently has 1400 miles on it. I too seem to have the 73mph vibration. I'm gonna post a more detailed report in the main 274+ page thread on this issue. But I think mine is not that bad and I don't notice it that much, possibly masked by the large LT285/70R17 tires I've had installed since driving it off the dealer lot, but it is definitely there at around 73mph.

What I've noticed more is the sluggishness of the throttle and the erratic behavior of the transmission. I had purchases a Diablo Intune programmer for my 2005 and since it also works on the 2014/2015 trucks I first used it to correct my speedo for the large tires. After a few days I installed the 87 tune for the ECM with the firm shift on the TCM for the transmission. It made a world of difference in the throttle response and trans shifting. I then tweaked the TCM a little more by turning torque management off and increasing the line pressure up 2 in 2nd thru 6th gears at part and WOT as per recommended by a couple others on these forums. The trans shifts so nice with this setup. Just over the weekend I restored the ECM and TCM back to factory as I am taking it to the dealer tommorrow to hopefully get my dealer installed remote start OnStar Remote Link app issue hopefully resolved. Driving it today with the factory trans shifting I couldn't help thinking over and over what the heck was GM thinking with this factory tune. The trans feels like it never knows what to do it's mind boggling. I'll be certainly putting the Intune back on after the visit to the dealer.

Yes, I have felt this as the trans downshifts while decelerating. However I am not sure if its the exhaust "drone" or something in the tranny itself. This whole truck has voodoo shakes, some days worse than others. Very annoying.

It's not the drone. I never felt a vibration with the stock exhaust or with my Flowmaster Super 44 exhaust which doesn't have the flapper valve. With stock exhaust you wouldn't even know if it was in V4 or not unless you looked on the dash display.

i had this V4 shaking a little, before the Diablew intune customtune switched it off!

bye the way, i´m very happy with the tune. Now the Truck feels strong and the trans knows what to do, even with this dam 3.08 gears.

but the original tires seem to be the problem of some vibrations all around.

I hope they wear out quickly, so i can put some better brands on it.

keep on shakin :driving:

I think it is partially the "drone". My truck vibrates and is VERY annoying to drive. The dealer and GM rep looked at the truck, vibration tested with analyzer tool, balanced tires several different times and eventually told me "running as designed". Nice design. So, to distract my mind, I cut out the muffler and flapper (which at one time froze closed and I could not start my truck) so now the exhaust sounds nice, however a V4 drone is present. Vibration is still there, dealer did not/"could not" fix it, and actually told me to run the truck until a TSB comes out with a fix. So 24k miles later ---- still vibrating. Before the muffler delete, your are right, I could not tell 4 from 8 mode. Truck was very quiet. Almost too quiet!

I bought a 2015 5.3l Sierra, no shake in Auto 4wd or not, at any speed.

I can still feel it being a little different in Auto 4wd, like the 2014 4.3l I had last year, which is new to me. I had a 2002, 2006, 2010 Silverado 5.3l and don't remember being able to tell it was in Auto.

I think they tune these trucks to be making as little power as possible at all times to raise mpg, and that may be what caused the vibration at low speeds for a few seconds on the 4.3 I had, and the being able to tell I'm in Auto 4wd with 4.3 or 5.3.
