you should change the shake "or" vibration options to just make the poll have two choices of shake or vibration or doesn't have any shake or vibration as many will be confused by the shake and vibration and be sure when picking between the two because we may not perceive it the same way.

if I ride in your truck and call it a shake but you might call it a vibration so I think its the same thing and should be listed that way

maybe people changed their votes for the reasons I mentioned

changing their vote shouldn't change the vote count. should it?

A shake is intermittent. A vibration has a certain frequency and amplitude.

The term shake, should really be removed completely from this poll.

I am just trying to mimic the original shake/vibration thread.

I feel that I have a shake and a vibration. After my truck sits for awhile say 8 hours and then I drive it where I can immediatly get up to 50 MPH it shakes violently (its not a rapid or slow frequency vibration, its definitely a shake, like someone picked up my truck with me in it and started shaking it) for the first 1/2 to 1 1/2 miles and then it stops however, I feel vibration (like a rapid frequency vibration) in my floorboard and accelerator pedal most of the time, especially in V4 mode while in 5th and 6th gear.

Edit: is that intermitten enough?

Maybe some people deleted their vote and didn't vote again.

possibly.

Edit: who knows, maybe the guys working behind the scenes might know, whoever that is, the internet powers that be.

I find some slight vibes in the steering wheel, it seems like road feedback. I don't know.

I had a 2007 Wrangler before that vibed so bad I had to get rid of it. This truck is not that bad but it seems like something is slightly out.

How bad is the vibration we are experiencing? I saw some videos but could not tell from water bottles in the cup holders.

Has anyone had an alignment double checked on these trucks?

I also am suspect of the AFM. My problem is driving rural roads, AFM kicks in, I actually have a vibration if I soft pedal to maintain speed. It will vibrate up until I but it down to kick it back to V6. Anyone experience or know of this problem? I plan on having this reviewed first oil change.

My build date is January 2014.

the ones looking under the trucks you cant see anything but this video shows it best

its not a lot of videos out there about this issue and this is the only good one I found

I wish more people with this issue would post youtube videos of it so people can better see what is going on with these trucks and we aren't just a bunch of nit picking cry babies complaining about nothing. someone once told me, without pictures or video of it it never happened so please guys and gals put up some videos if you have the means to do so

that doesn't say much since most get the vibration between 65-70 mph but you might have a good one, 4 out of 5 people do.

There are many people that have a bad vibration at 50-60mph. Mine is also good on the highway all the way up to 80mph. It does depend on the stretch of highway, seems like these trucks are very sensitive to road conditions.

I have almost 7,000 miles on mine and have never felt any kind of vibration at any speed. I wasn't sure how bad some people's vibration was until seeing the youtube vid keeker posted. I think that person's shake was at 75. Some might not be that bad though. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones, still rides like a Cadi. Hell I even got it up to 98 (governor) on a back road and nothing, rode great.

I'll say again that since there's no particular common denominator (no certain cab, engine, 2 or 4wd and so on) then it has to be something that all configurations have in common. It could just be a bad batch of something in the trans or drivetrain mounts. I know if GM could figure it out they would fix it. I just don't think GM as a company wouldn't do wrong to the customers that just paid thousands for a brand new truck.

Mine was built in late 2013 and mine's the same as yours. I have no vibration and rides like a Cadi. It has since day one and I have 7,000 miles on it now (got in this past April). The 1st time I noticed was when I went to the beach, 2 1/2 hour away, and the biggest bridge I go over is bumpy but spaced out. It literally felt like a boat planing over waves. It was so smooth and took every bump great. Also it never feels like I'm going as fast as I am. When going 75 it feels more like 60. I've found myself going 75-80 in a 55 zone and not meaning to. It just doesn't feel like it's going that fast.

SouthernSilverado, I own the same truck (however all stock at this point) a Z-71, LT, V-8, double cab, standard bed, 3.08 gears, July 2013 build date; however mine does vibrate/shake. very annoying, the dealer has had it for more than three weeks and they tell me this is how trucks are... ya right.

Fortunately for me my truck has been problem free from day one.

I will say though, driving the same roads 5 days a week, there are certain roads (parts of roads) that it does shake/vibrate for a time. Don't know why,but guessing it's just a combination of a multitude of things.

I posted a shake/vibration poll on another site back in July when I started a thread there about my 2014 shakerado.

http://www.silveradosierra.com/uncategorized/2014-silverado-sierra-got-vibration-shake-at-highway-speed-t275290.html

My shake/vibration occurs at 65 mph and up. As far as us quibbling about what is a shake and what is a vibration, whether one or the other is intermittent or constant, who cares? My truck has a shake at 65 mph and up and and it makes the seat, pedals and console vibrate.

Dont underestimate GM. They dont care about fixing your truck or my truck. They are a huge, impersonal business and they only care about the bottom line and paying out the least amount that they can, and only when they have to. If you got lucky enough to have a selling dealer that agrees that your truck has a vibration and tries to fix it, you are ahead of the game and you may have an easier road towards a solution. I myself have a selling dealer that refuses to acknowledge the vibration (also refused to acknowledge the transmission slipping) so I was fighting an uphill battle from day one and I have seen how little GM cares, and how little GM will do to help. They are your opponent, not your ally.

They probably (just my opinion) also have people who long ago registered on these sites, just in case they were ever needed for something, who are now trying to stir the pot and confuse the issue. Its really suspicious when so many people post up in vibe/shake threads, repeatedly, and not just this one, about how they have no vibe/shake. Im not saying all of them are GM shills, but I think (again, my opinion) some of them are.

I tried to reason with my selling dealer, then with GM, then with two other local Chevy dealers, then with GM again. All made it clear, not just from what they said, but from their actions, or more like their inactions, that they didnt give a rats ass. My state law says I have to arbitrate before filing lemon law. I filed with BBB Autoline for arbitration http://www.bbb.org/council/programs-services/dispute-handling-and-resolution/bbb-auto-line/bbb-auto-lines-process/

I got a call from GM (a new case worker, a new case number) within a week of filing with BBB with more apologies and more promises from GM to help. They have already started blowing it. Telling me that they will call me back to follow up or answer my question at such and such a time, then not doing it.

Ive had it with GMs lies. I will let this BBB crap run its course, then file lemon law.

I feel for ya, went through a buy back and left GM after 30 years of buying and driving their trucks.

They continued to lie to me even after they were proven wrong, it was like the dealers were all told what to say from Gm concerning this truck and the shuddering, shaking, vibrating issues as well as all the other Problems I fought to have fixed.

Now bought and own a Ram eco diesel with 420lb ft of torque and average of 25-26 miles to the Gallon.

My seat is comfortable, radio works, 8 speed transmission shifts smoothly, real fuel numbers, no v4 crap!

Just saying this ram delivers quite well overall, and rides better then my Sierra ever did.

they don't know and cant fix it and one out of every five trucks does it so you are lucky, sounds like you got one of the good ones.

But they do know I assure you. The problem is that fixing it would be way too expensive so they will just pretend that it is a rare problem.
