I feel for ya, went through a buy back and left GM after 30 years of buying and driving their trucks.

They continued to lie to me even after they were proven wrong, it was like the dealers were all told what to say from Gm concerning this truck and the shuddering, shaking, vibrating issues as well as all the other Problems I fought to have fixed.

Now bought and own a Ram eco diesel with 420lb ft of torque and average of 25-26 miles to the Gallon.

My seat is comfortable, radio works, 8 speed transmission shifts smoothly, real fuel numbers, no v4 crap!

Just saying this ram delivers quite well overall, and rides better then my Sierra ever did.

I like the idea of a smaller diesel with better fuel economy. I believe they offer this truck only in 2WD now.

  • Why is this poll missing 24 votes, is this a conspiracy. All joking aside, why are so many votes missing?

It's not missing votes.

Those 24 votes are null votes for people like me who just want to see the results of the poll and did not select an option.

ok, its a little misleading because at the top it says xxx members have cast votes. Just seems weird to me.

Took truck on 40 mile trip with my wife.........she looked at me and asked if something was wrong with truck. Why? I answered. She goes "look at the soda, its fizzing from being shook up". GM, If my wife can see and feel the vibrations that's bad.

I Bought mine in June. Just this past weekend I put 800 miles on it. Total mileage is 4300 an it's the smoothest, quietest vehicle I've ever owned. Compared to some of the stories I've read, I feel like I've won the lottery by having a good one.

Same here, mine just hit 7,000 this week and still rides like a cadi and has since day 1. I realized that if you go all over forums it's going to seem like most of the trucks has the vibration issue, but what about all of those people with these trucks and don't go on forums. What I figure is that less than 20% of them vibrate. Hell I feel more like I hit the lottery as you say because of other people having other problems while mine hasn't had any issues. I've only took it in once and that was for 2 recalls that need to be done to it.

Mine has the vibration between 40-50 mph. It's not bad, but it's there. I read somewhere this may be a backlash issue?

If you go to the shake or vibration forum I posted the fix. Dealer got the go-ahead to measure ring gear tolerances, which were way off specs, and replaced the differential. Problem solved.

You posted the fix for your truck, some people had the entire rear end changed and it didn't solve their shake/vibration.

Glad to hear yours is fixed though.

There are different vibration or shake issues in different vehicles. The 40 to 50 mph vibe seems to be caused by a ring gear out of specs in the differential. Replacing it with one that is right solved my truck's problem. I know of no one who has had this exact problem, tried this fix, and it didn't work.... Just sayin'

If you think about it, putting a whole new axle in doesn't mean the specs were what they should be. On the other hand their problem could be something else.
