I voted but I wouldn't really put too much stock into this poll. The only thing it will show you is the % of truck owners on this forum with vibration issues and that in no way represents what the actual market is experiencing because there's no data to suggest the members of this forum represent the broader Silverado consumer market. To really find this out, you would have to do a much more scientific poll with input from a broader group of consumers. Don't get me wrong I appreciate the effort and like I said, I voted and I'm interested to see how it turns out. I'm just saying keep it in context and at the end of the day, it's not really going to tell us much that can be considered relevant or noteworthy.[/quote

Shaken-truck-syndrom ask for a poll so I did one. I understand your point completely.

I asked 15LTZZ71 to post this poll as I was not able to. I totally understand that the poll will probably be leaning toward the problem by being in this topic which is where I asked it to be placed. After reading through yes it should be in the 2014/2015 Silverado / Sierra 1500 General Forum. Moderator could you please move poll to this area.

There is an option to select "no vibration or shake".

Must have been added after the fact. Was not an option when I added my NULL vote.

was there an option for Null vote? or are you just sayin you didn't vote? I am trying to figure out why the vote count is off by 7 votes.

Null votes are basically just to see results and not choose an option. I'm one of the null votes as I don't have a 14.

Updated the poll with no shake or vibration

you should change the shake "or" vibration options to just make the poll have two choices of shake or vibration or doesn't have any shake or vibration as many will be confused by the shake and vibration and be sure when picking between the two because we may not perceive it the same way.

if I ride in your truck and call it a shake but you might call it a vibration so I think its the same thing and should be listed that way

maybe people changed their votes for the reasons I mentioned

I keep seeing this topic. My truck is an early '14 (it doesn't have the indicator light on the cargo lamp switch, that's how I know.) and I drive 90% interstate/back roads at higher speeds.

this thing rides like its on a cloud.

What's this about? Whats causing the shakes?

they don't know and cant fix it and one out of every five trucks does it so you are lucky, sounds like you got one of the good ones.

No shake or vibration here that is not caused by the road. Mine is smooth as glass as 60MPH on a newly paved road.

that doesn't say much since most get the vibration between 65-70 mph but you might have a good one, 4 out of 5 people do.

What does this vibration/shake feel like? I mean how bad is it? Does it vibrate the entire truck, like could it become a safety issue? I run mine up to 80 on the highway all the time and I have never noticed it in the 8,000 + miles I've had it. I've driven several other '14s, both brand new and rentals that had some miles on them and I've never experienced it.

That's bazaar. Especially considering how similar these are to the GMT-900, at least from the suspension/frame standpoint. I mean the strut/leaf config looks basically the same, just your average truck frame. Seems like process of elimination could help if they had something to test with, but you'd need some sort of lab or test track so that you could strip off major components without consequences.

I mean you can swap rims and tires all day, could be calipers, rotors, it has to have something to do with rotating mass I would think, so.. driveshaft, calipers rotors wheels tires, somewhere in there perhaps?
