for those following the saga...

the $20 for 5 months is only for basic service - does not include premium channels. for two days i've called and used the website to try to re-activate my service... turns out it probably worked yesterday - but i was only testing the howard stern station. turns out stern is a premium channel. told them to just turn it back off if this deal didn't include stern. they gave me the 1 year option (something like $130), then a 6 month option (for somethlng like $60)... i said i've seen way better deals and if i don't get stern i don't care anyway. turn it back off. then they wanted to refund my $$$ to a balance of $0.12...... 12 cents!?!?!? i said i've only had the channels on since for the 3 minutes we've been on the phone listening to the "deals" you want to give me.

they finally agreed to cancel the whole amount, then they give me 1 month premium access for free to try (this includes all channels plus web and phone app access).

crazy company... guess i get to hear stern for the next month...

In the past I used to buy the "lifetime" subscription. Turns out they don't offer it any more. Lucky me though, I had it on a past vehicle and they offered a one time transfer, something they don't normally do, to my 2015 Silverado for $75. I'm still in awe at their generosity on this. That was only a $400 lifetime subscription, not the later $700 version.

Anyway, I've also learned you have to work them to get good deals. Let them sweat a little. I used to have a USA based 800 number for them instead of the overseas 800 number, that worked often. But now you just have to play their game and wait for the "Special" renewal price.

When I signed up for the $25.00 for 6 moths plan (after doing battle with them for an hour) I was under the impression it was for all stations. After activating it I realized it was for only the basic stations. I called them right back to cancel and explained that I was under the impression it was for all stations. The lady then upgraded me for no extra charge to the all access for 6 months giving me all stations while keeping me at the $25.00 rate. I am surprised they did not offer the same to you. It was only two days ago that I did it. On a side note I am a huge fan of the turbo TA!! Buddy of mine has a grand national throwing down over 700hp at the rear wheels. Either one of those turbo cars on on my bucket list of cars.

Pandora, Spotify, and Rdio all have better diversity of music than XM. XM is the biggest rip off ever when you can listen to all types of music for free streaming from your phone.

XM better change its business model soon as the internet is taking over.
