Here's my 2003 Avalanche (without cladding body type), around 200k miles, i am the fourth owner. it had two corporate owners in the US, exported in 2007, up to 2010 was held in germany, then on 2010 arrived in italy and last spring i bought it.

It is my "new" daily driver (i also own a 2010 Ford Mustang GT that i use mostly for car meetings and weekend trips), just love it.

I was in search of a 2000\2005 full size truck, and this resulted better (in style and handling, which is awesome for being a truck) than Rams, Silverados, and F150 of the same years and price tags.

Bought it very cheap because it had some issues (for the dealer, nothing serious for a petrolhead) that made me work all summer :D But at the end it's all done, except for the famous clunk when hard steering (will replace the torsion bars bushings before the end of the year, finger crossed it will solve this!)

Here's some photos of the first wash after delivery (it was may).

Will come with newer ones, in the meantime i cleaned up the engine bay (and had the LPG system components re-mounted in a much nicer and tidy-up way), bought new rims and tires, did some audio work (had head unit and all the speaker replaced, stock one were all but one blown) and full tune-up, new shocks, as well as i'm improving and fixing the lights euro conversion to look better (getting rid of extra ugly lights installed to pass inspections for obtaining license plates, it's one of the things that sucks here about owning a US car).

My to-do list :

- Volant Cold air intake and tune

- Torsion bar bushings

- Transmission flush

- Cooling system flush

- Running boards

- Minor bodyparts re-spray\polishing

- Subwoofer to be added

- Parking sensors

- Additional front fender horrible ( :D) turn signals to be included in side mirrors

Looks good! Does it throw you off reading the MPH, instead of KMH?

Thanks, it is even better now (compared to how it was in the pics), i'll post some new photos soon.

Not really, i'm quite used to, since it's not my first american car... and cause i really like the States it makes me feel "more at home" :D until my next trip takes me there ;)

Very nice!

Nothing wrong with your English either. As a matter of fact, you could probably give us all a lesson.

Very cool! I didn't notice where you're from the first time I read this thread.

thank you guys! good to know that my english level is fair... living next to one of the biggest us air force base in europe has its pros i guess :D having some friends inside and an ex-girlfriend made the rest :D

i live near Venice, up on the north-east corner of Italy. i grew up seeing many american cars driven by military people and developed some interest on them (even though average european guys thinks that us cars are useless piles of metal), and in the last few years i try (and luckily do) to come and visit USA once a year on my summer holidays weeks, trying to join both vacation and visits to auto museums\collections, speedways (and nascar events), big dealers, swap meets and so on...

i am also a member of a local group of us classic cars owners\fanclub that organize events and perform restorations as well, so the sickness is quite rooted in me i should say :D thanks for welcoming me in your forum!

and for you all that thinks my truck is in good shape, just give me few more months and it will be even better!
