Where to buy new remotes.

I need to find new remotes for my son's 03 2500HD. Dealer wants $130. each. Awhile back I bought two for my wife's 06 HHR on line for $16. and local dealer programmed for $19. total. How can you find out which one to buy as son has lost his 2 remotes. Thanks

steve-maine -- you're right about the dealer cost, and that part is probably on the shelf. On-line is a good way to go if you have the time. Saw one on Ebay for about 30 bucks, make sure it's the correct version for his truck (not the shell, the complete fob), ask dealer for GM part number. As for programming, some dealers does it for free, mine did. Check around

Dig around the Internet like Amazon and eBay and you should be able to find them cheap. You probably only need one anyway.. No reason to buy a second you'll never use

I bought one from Ebay, got instructions on programming from a friend at the dealer, worked great was cheap and worked fine

I got a new one for my daughters cobalt on ebay for $19.00 and I was able to program them myself, give them a try.

GM retail is $74 so unless they are for some reason charging like $60 for install, they are charging almost double for just the part. Insane.

I got an extra online and also did an extra key or 2 that way. It was definitely the cost effective way to go.

I've got a '04 Sierra 3500 C&C, and it shipped from GM with 3 plain, square rubbolite taillights on each side [GM just bought them off the shelve].

 

Rubbolite dealers want about $5 for each lense (which is just a square plastic lense) [varies a little with color]

GM dealer here wants $70 for each lense. And of course he has to order them in...

I bought both types for my 01 off amazon then returned the one that didn't program and ordered a second for the one that did.

 

It shows only two types available.
