6.2 8 speed

Been running Dmax's for about 10 years.

Do you miss the torque of the Duramax? Once you get more miles on your 6.2 / 8-speed, I would like to hear your comparisons of the 6.2 vs 2011 - 2015 LML Duramax.

It's still less than 200 miles, so I haven't been to hard on it and I haven't had a trailer hooked up.

I'm sure I'll notice the torque difference when towing. I tried to order an NHT 6.2/8speed, but didn't want to wait for it to be built mid Jan - and probably not delivered til end Jan, as we intend to be south by then.

I'll post comparison feedback when I get some more miles on it.

It already looks like the 6.2/8sp will get better mileage doing daily driver duties.

What state do you live in?? I am in mass and I can't find an SLT with max towing anywhere

I just want to know if the transmission seems less confused then the anemic 6 speeds they are still putting in ? Knows when to shift, dosent fluctulate , dosent just kick you in the back , etc.

The programming seems excellent so far. Shifts are fast and smooth. Smooth enough that it is near impossible to keep track of what gear it is in.

IM sure he will a dmax has what double the torque. You may not notice it as much under normal driving but in towing he sure will. I have owned two powerstrokes in the middle of a chevy and a ford before my current chevy. Although the chevys were both 5.3s with 3.73 and the ford an ego with 3.73s nothing is close to a diesel. But I got out of the diesel game, i could get buy with a half ton and save thousands doing it

And the diesel makes it's max torque a 1600rpm. It doesn't have to downshift to pass/merge/etc even when pulling the trailer.
