14 LT 4.3L 2WD

Any specific reason you went with the small V6 engine instead of the more common 5.3L V8? I don't see many V6 GM trucks in my area, most dealerships only stock the 5.3L, 6.2L 1/2 ton pickups. It was very rare to find the 4.8L on dealer lots also. If you wanted eith the V6 or smaller V8, they usually have to do a dealer trade or order one for you.

Nothing wrong with that engine, just curious as to why you made the decision to go small in the full size pickup. I am not really up to speed on the current V6 GM engines but I did own 3 different S10's with the Vortec 4.3L and it was a strong little engine, thirsty, but strong.

After having your truck for a while, how do you like that engine so far?

My dealership was trying to get rid of their 2014s. Msrp for this truck was 39k. I paid 30K. Brand new. At that time i was looking at the 5.3L and ppl kept complaining about the engine. The 4.3L has enough power for me and im impressed about it. I didn't buy this truck to haul or save gas but back in March i drove from NJ to FL and got 27MPG which surprised me. I love this truck and even when its dirty, i still get looks.

I had a 2015 SLE double cab 2 wd 4.3 as a loaner last week. For normal driving, it was the same as my 5.3. The DIC showed 18.3 where I average 14.8 or so. It was very smooth and ran great.

That midnight edition looks amazing!!

Thank you sir, it gets a bunch of looks from all ages. It surprises me the attention it gets from both genders. The wife gets a little jealous when the ladies act like she's not right next to me. She made the comment "I think I'm going to have to drive it only... because of all the women checking you out" I said, "that's fine as long and you bring them home to me also, i don't care." lmao. She punched me in the arm...it hurt...that's how i know she was mad.

Here is a picture of mine after I cleaned it up a couple of months ago. Nothing special been done to it except I debadged the tailgate and painted the front bowtie black. I am still debating if I want to take the silverado emblem off the doors or not but haven't had time to deal with it.

If it was mine, I would swap out the mirror caps and door handles for black ones. Only because there's nothing else that's chrome on the truck. I like some chrome, but not a lot and the chrome needs to be in the right places. Having just the mirror caps and handles chrome doesn't look right to me on a black truck where nothing else is chrome. Just my opinion though.

    • Atlas,   Then following your logic we can't believe any story that the MSM produces? I mean it's documented they heavily donate to Democrat candidates. Vote Democrat in high percentages. Many MSM talents are married to Democrat politicians, Gov. employees. That goes for on-air and off, personalities and reporters. So they would all be biased and nothing they produce is to be believed in your mind?   Again the article simply was about ways AI can be used for pricing products. Nothing discounted current situations as a factor.    Again keep looking through your left/right lenses. I don't live my life that way.   And as a heads up this thread will be cleaned up again as much of this is off topic and is receiving
    • Yes, and only a couple years before delivery. 🙄
    • So you're saying toss the baby out with the bathwater? @txab posted article was her take on how AI can be used to manipulate pricing as it already does and has been rebuked by the judiciasry in housing. How AI can be and is used to maximize refinery or even Amazon operations all of which are true but because she is who she is; that makes what she says about what is true, false? Is that something akin to Pre-justice aka prejudice?    Look, I'm first in line to approach all information with caution just because we live in a world where people like to lie about someone or something with such a straight face and in such volume that it makes digging to the truth wearisome. Meaning I understand the skepticisms but if I were to toss out everything a person is for a view they hold then my pool of people to draw wisdom from would be non-existent and I'd be forced to reinvent the wheel daily. Not practical.    "Be innocent as a dove but as cautious as a serpent."    Test each word. Every good lie is part truth or no one would believe it. Find the truth in it and reject what isn't.    On this one, AI is being used to do what has been done by hand for hundreds of years already but at such speed, the point of a computer, that it is more easily monetized. This one wasn't that hard a lift.    I wrote a few formulas in a Lotus 123 program decades ago, a series of linked Macros actually, that allowed a daily inventory to be turned into a running P&L and production plan. Something that took three departments a week to assemble now took the time it takes to input the 'daily changes' in inventory. Later that was ungraded to the more powerful Excel program an and integrated with bar code scanning, inventory to supply was done once per shift. It had a huge impact on production scheduling, Seamless interruption flexibility, inventory error reduction, raw materials cost effective utilization and scrap reduction. Huge improvement in the bottom line. I spent months on that and AI could have done it in minutes. So yes, it not only can be used, they would be foolish to not try. The legality, ethics and morality are not the domain of AI. Humans need to keep a reign on it.
    • New to this forum.  Also looking to tune a 6L80 and trying to work out all the issues in my transmission swap.  I have a 6.2 diesel (1983) and have removed the TH-400 and about to put in a 6L80 with a TCM-2600 interface and don't have a clue what I doing after that.  Did you (Leatherneck/RAV3) get your slip resolved? I too hate to spend that kind of money on a tuner that hopefully I will not need too many times although from what steelerdude15 added about the HP Tuner being great for diagnostics would be a plus.  I am also from WNC but below you in Columbus.  Any helo would be greatly appreciated.
