Poor quality on backup camara.

I am disappointed with the graphical quality of my back up camara. It's seems to enhance colors in a negative manner that it almost seems cartoony reducing the distance I'm able to see. Does any one else have this same problem with theirs? I loved the camara on my 07 Tahoe and my wife's accord is phenomenal. I havn't checked any others yet and honestly I didn't notice it when I was test driving.

Yes it sucks but it's better than nothing I guess. Anyone know if the ram or f150 has same quality?

Agreed on the camera picture sucking. My uncle has a brand new 2014 F150. I'll see him Christmas day and will try to check it out.

its like its low color or something. It was the first thing I noticed when I got my truck.

My first thought was that it was the screen, but my truck has the 4" screen, so it has the reverse camera in the mirror, but it looks just as bad as the 8"ers I test drove.

probably just a crappy camera. My camaro didn't ahve this problem.

I guarantee it's simply crappy components to save money. If an iPhone can take some of the most stunning pictures ever, surely, they can put a better camera in these trucks.

In regards to guys with it in the mirror, the camera is the weak spot. I know someone at the mirror supplier and he says it can support a better camera.

I second that becuase the back up camera in my brother's 2013 Infiniti G37 has crystal clear display. GM is most likely using the cheapest Chinese made crap they could find. .

I had a 2011 F150 with backup camera and THAT camera sucked. Could not see jack shit at night. I find the camera in my Sierra to be more than adequate. You aren't watching hi def movies on it, just backing up for a few seconds.

The backup camera on a pickup is used for more than just backing up. Many also use it to assist in hitching a trailer, especially a heavy trailer that cannot be moved by hand. Clear dsiplay is very helpful in this case.

I have no problem using mine to assist when backing up to a trailer (daylight/night time). I do not need a HD camera/screen for my backup camera.

I also find it to be ok and surprised the night vision is still decent. However, just to mention in this thread too, the company camera-source.com who advertises on this website is working on a Plug and Play replacement camera (upgrade) for our trucks. I posted info on page 4 here:
