Just joined up. I came across this site in my search to figure out how to install a new Stereo and speakers in my 07 Sierra Z71 ext Cab.(three of the four door speakers failed, so I'm swapping out the whole system.) I got the Axxess On-Star kit (GMOS-LAN -01) and Steering wheel control modular to go with the Pioneer AVH-3700BHS. (i already installed the Infinity Speakers in the doors - easy job).

I've installed scores of Car Stereos back in the day, but nothing in the digital age. I got three instruction manuals and lots of confusion on how the three units are connected together. just for fun I'm throwing a Back up cam into the mix since I love confusion. I'm doing the research to figure out how to better integrate the system into the truck.

 

I some Specific questions to answer so far, I know I'lll have more once I get a working installation plan.

 

OnStar Mic: Instead of adding another mic to the truck I want to Tap into the OnStar Mic wires and connect a 3.5 mm jack to the Receiver for my Bluetooth. I've had no luck finding a OnStar schematic for my Truck. I learned that the OnStar unit is under the dash beneath the AC unit and Ash Tray. I have a couple of Plugs from the Axxess GMOS kit which I figure I assume goes to the OnStar unit (though the Axxess instruction don't tell me.).I have a 3.5 mm jack in the Install Kit but the instruction doesn't talk about it.

 

Back up Cam:

I want to install a backup Cam since I'm in the neighborhood. I need to Tap into the backup lights I assume that this wire is bundled on the steering Column. Anybody know where I can find the backup light wire that I can easily tap/
