Missing options on the 2014-15 Sierra SLT and Silverado

Why are convenience options offered on the Tahoe and Yukon not offered on the Sierra SLT and Silverado. I went to trade my 2013 Sierra the other day and found that the fully remote (push button start) that are available on the SUVs is not available on the pickups? It appeared, although I didn't confirm, that some safety notifications on the dash were also left off the pickups. This does not make sense based on the outrageous cost of the SLT and Silverado. If the remote is not standard, it should at least be an option. The 2015 pickup and suv are basically the same, from the front seat forward. And, before anyone reminds me the pickup already has a keyless remote, I am talking about the close vicinity remote that does not require a key and utilizes push button start. This is becoming quite common on late model vehicles.

I'm disappointed and will hold off trading up until they add these convenience options and any other options or safety features offered in the 2015 suvs.

remote start is an option, I have it on mine

I think it is standard on the SLT, although I could be mistaken

EDIT: just realized you were talking about complete keyless actions, never needing to remove the key from your pocket

sorry, read your first post too quick

I feel your pain, but the SUV's are not really the same as the trucks. The suspension is very different, mainly, but the SUV price points are so high that those nicer things are requirements. I think the 2015 F-150, even as expensive as it is, will continue to expand the advantage Ford has over GM in trucks. Ram is gaining on us too.

SUV's not so much. There is nothing in the world that can match a 2015 Escalade ESV, IMO.

I have push button start on my 23k mazda 6 but, it's not even an option on my 40k sierra lol.

How about express windows? Driver up/down and pass. down, only? 52K truck . Ridiculous.

Yea I thought this was rather second rate myself. Really, how much more would it cost to program the motor to match what the drivers side does.

We could always have bought a Buick. They have blind spot monitoring (as do Yukons and Tahoes, natch)

In my opinion it is a different market.

The typical buyer for the SUV is well off soccer mom or some type of family person.

The trucks are moving to this market, but the main buyer is still the fleet and work use.

I have no interest in a key less truck. If they make it so be it.

Wont effect me either way.

I care about towing capacity and torque.

But I agree that a few more features would be nice. Some truck buyer do want all the fancy stuff.

I'm just thankful they added the 8" touch screen and a few other things that had been missing in older models.

I freaking hate window auto up and down... make it stop... it is impossible to get the window where I want it.

Auto down was bad enough.

You do know there is a position in the middle to stop it where you want it, right?

actually no... I thought you had to move it to the opposite position.

so if you slightly press it to the center it will stop. I will try that.

I have not messed with it much.

yes.

if you are rolling the window down press the button but don't press it down all the way. if you feel that "click" in the button that you just activated the auto down feature. just barely press the button and the window will stop at your control. same concept when going up on the drivers window but obviously opposite direction.

I don't mind having a key to start it, but would have really liked for them to make it a single key fob instead of having your remote and key separate.

I agree that the market for trucks is a little different than for the suv's, but everyone usually has to take their truck on the roads at some point, and the blind spot warning in the mirror or dash would be a lovely feature to have. It's crazy to me that the seat will vibrate when you go out of your lane, but there is no blindspot warning. Kind of seems like it would be part of that package.

And of course, an HID option would be lovely.

Edit: I'm assuming the flip or blade style key fob won't clear the column shifter, and that's why we get the key and remote separate.

Given all of the ignition switch issues I would thing GM would be putting the push button system in all of their cars.

Of course they are going to offer things in the SUV's that are not in the pickups. Given how much more they charge for them.

At least they do in Canada.. Heck I can get a Corvette for the same money they ask for the big SUV's

So you will be waiting for years. Then when it's in the pickups the SUV's will have even newer features.

The big SUV's are like the Cadillac's og the truck line they will always have more and have it first.
