white diamond or sunset orange?

The 1500s rated for 11,500lbs are those with the max towing package, thus giving them stronger leaf springs as well. You do what you want bud, but if I were towing that kind of weight I would just go with a 2500 series truck.

Ya and? It doesn't have the brake controller which I can do aftermarket and if really needed I can put heavy duty shocks in the rear.

I've looked in my door jam and under the hood and haven't seen anything that mentioned towing capacity, just tire pressure. That's why I say to go off the manual and if putting any gears lower than 3.73 then you don't know what it would be able to tow.

I would have to physically look at a 2014 to find it. It is there. I dont feel like wasting my gas to drive across town to my friends house just for arguments sake. It is printed on the truck. Thats how the highway patrol and DOT get you for overloading.

My whole point was saying that drivetrain wise just changing the gears can change a lot with towing capability. Would I tow over 10,000 with a half ton, nope. The reason I want to change gears is more for performance and ability just in case I want. I just can't stand the 3.08s in my truck now. I've only towed once and that was with my 98 and I towed a Uhaul tandem axle trailer. I had the bed full of stuff and the trailer was packed top to bottom front to back and it did it fine. I don't plan on towing any trailers which is why I didn't look into the gear ratio first, but if I ever want to go off-road or need to help someone I'd rather have 3.73s or at least 3.42s than 3.08s.

I haven't seen it anywhere, not on the door jam or under the hood. I'm sure it's somewhere but honestly the only thing I found about weight was that the hitch is rated at 12,000 which means nothing about the truck itself. Maybe it's in a different door jam, but the only one in the driver jam is tire pressures. At least on mine.

Ok the re-gearing makes sense then. Im honestly not arguing with you bud. Are you running a stock size tire or larger?

3.08 gears do suck just feel like they got nothing off the line. 3.73 will really wake it up!

Stock tires, no level and plan on keeping it stock. If I do a lift it would be minor and I would want to keep the rake of the rear being higher. My 98 was leveled and even though unloaded it looked better, but with any real weight in the bed it looked like the rear was squatting. My 98 also had 3.73s so I guess I was used to that.

I know for heavier weight the rear suspension would have to be a little stiffer (forgot about the leaf springs), but the original post was because he wants a 6.2 and I was just making the point that engine and drivetrain wise you can get a 5.3 to tow as much as the 6.2. I may not have towed much with a pickup, I'm very familiar with towing because I tried out trucking so I know all about what a truck would need to tow certain weights.

Gotcha my Rocky Ridge has a 5.3 6spd with a 3.42 gear. I think it too would be a different animal with a gear like a 4.10 or 4.56. Im ordering a max tow 15 with the 6.2 and 3.42 rear. Im not going to run a tire bigger than a 32.5 which is only half an inch taller than the stocker. Most ill be towing is about 8,000 so i wanted a set up that can do that with ease.

And im partial to diamond white pearl so thats my vote!

Sunset orange!

Agree!!!! I would trade mine in on this color. My Harley is Sedona Orange, which is pretty close in color. The "burnt orange" color is my favorite on any vehicle

Man, I couldn't be more on the fence with this. I LOVE that color, always have. That being said, you already own one in that color. I think having a "different" color would compliment the Sunset Orange Metallic better. Otherwise, I would think that you would always be comparing the 2 colors against each other. I think the White Diamond Tricoat is sexy...especially in the LTZ trim. I say keep it!

If you were looking to put a Sunset Orange Metallic in the driveway, I'd say get the truck.....but you already have one. And it looks like you aren't getting rid of that Camaro anytime soon.

Do you want, you want to take the depcriation hit and and new car cost hit go for it. IMVHO, being all matchy seems tacky, two that orange is not a terrible color, but its more a niche color, which could hurt at trade or resale.
