I know this has been hashed out here already, but I am hoping for some final clarification. For those of you with GMC's do the HVAC control dials have a red ring back light on models with auto temp feature.

Its unnecessary as the knob itself lights up so you know exactly where it is. The point of the halos is to provide easy view of where the knobs without built in illumination are.

My temp knobs have no lights around them. What concerns me more is the recirculation mode does not keep out smells especially gas fumes. Every car and truck I have owned has always keeped out smells when in recir. mode.

My 14 slt does, for sure all buttons are lit behind with red led. But damn it I still have the delivery truck picture for my cargo light button. Hahaha

Your temp knobs don't have a red ring around them, unless you can take a pic to show that you do. They are bright enough and don't require red led rings. I've never seen any Sierra with the red led rings around the temp knobs.
