2014/2015 One piece key fob/Key

Does anyone know if a one piece fob and key all in one can be programmed to work for you trucks?

Like this one from a terrain?

I only carry one key around with me and that is my truck key, it would be nice to be able to have one like this so I don't have to listen to my key fob smacking my steering column over and over again.

The issue with these are that the column shifter may hit the key on the way down. I think that's why GM is still using separate key/fob. I would prefer the single key/fob as well, preferably keyless start.

Bah, I wonder if someone will come out with some sort of key that works. I know a guy started making them for tacomas shortly before I sold mine.

I wonder if anyone has actually had one cut and tried it? Does it always hit the shifter, or only if you pull it completely toward you?

preferably keyless start.

This.

The Tahoe/Yukon/Suburban get it, why don't we? I'd love to not have to take my keys out of my pocket to lock/unlock and start my truck.

This is me as well. And every time I hit a bump or hole in the road ( I live in louisiana, we have the worst roads on Earth) the smacking of the fob drives me up a wall! Every vehicle I've owned had a little rubber pad on the column to keep the noise down. But not GM......

I use to hold it in my little known bumpy areas and pulled it off the key at the mud parks, but broke down and stuck some felt on the column like another member posted. Annoyance is almost gone. The felt just isn't staying so I'll try again now that it's warm.

There isn't enough cleanse with the softer for this. I looked last night and it's because of how it's designed. They could have done it different and made it work.

The shift lever will actually hit the current key if the column is tilted up all the way. Just barely misses it in the other positions. GM has actually been replacing with shorter keys if you have this problem. That all-in-one key/fob combo would never work, unless they make one with a much shorter profile.

For the remote banging the column, I used a piece of the fuzzy side Velcro. Problem solved.

I similarly use a black piece of foam (3/4x2-3") that is sticky one side. Found at a local hardware store, by the rubber bumpers and such. The only time I hear the key fob when the truck is really rocking an it's hitting the shifter. I wish I could find it on the online store, it sticks really well, but removes without any markings on the column.

I wouldn't mind a nice piece of foam that looks factory when installed, I'm not sticking on a piece of fuzzy velcro though. Its bad enough I already had to hose clamp my seat to keep it in place.

only way to know would be to find someone with one and stick it in and see how it works. I doubt it as well due to the shifter and how much longer those fobs are, unless someone makes a redesigned shifter I cant see them working in our trucks.
