I hate my tires.

I had a chance to get my truck in some mud yesterday. It shouldn't have been a serious challenge. I was on a dirt road between two farm fields. It was completely flat with no hills or even crown in the road. There had been thunderstorms the night before. I have the stock Goodyears that came with my A/T package. They're useless. I only sunk about four inches before finding solid dirt. I went about 1/4 mile, spinning tires the whole way. If I gave it less gas, I stopped. If I gave it more gas, I only threw more mud in the air. I couldn't turn. It wouldn't get out of its own ruts. I had to back up the way I came in.

I don't ever really go off-road. The biggest challenge my 4x4 truck will see is a snowy highway or a slick boat ramp. I don't want big, noisy tires for my daily commute. Even so, these tires are pathetic for a truck labeled "All Terrain."

Exactly why I replaced mine 1 day after buying the truck. I went with Cooper Discoverer ATP.

I am with ya fisherman! Had a similar situation, 2wd, but still. Was a dirt road, rain the night before. I was sliding all over the place, the tires packed up instantly and it was like trying to drive on ice. Will look at some more aggressive tires when I burn these up, but if am on road mostly and do not want to sacrifice mileage. Will have to research it more when closer to replacement time.

Just an FYI, Discount TIre will give you trade value on your tires, if they are still decent. I got 200 for mine. Probably could get more on Craigslist, but I didn't want to deal with that.

There are 1000's of post on the crappy Goodyear tires, they suck! I laugh when a guy defends them.

What suprises me is why GM/Ford still use them as OEM tires.

The oem tires are junk, not just Goodyear every tire GM uses as a oem are pure 100% garbage. I learned that with my 05 that I bought new which had duelers on it, this time I didn't sign the papers until they agreed to put the tires I wanted on the truck!

Traded mine in got 450.00 for them. Went with Toyo AT II

Mine are AT II's as well. Great tires

Don't understand why gm went away from the bridgestone duellers, my guess I'd gy gave a great price, I prices both n there pretty close,

I loved mine, 2 sets with over 44k on them, not much of a perfect tire rotater, and I'm hard on tires towing and jackknifing into my driveway a lot,

Bridgestone Dueler A/T came on my truck. Maybe it is because I have a Z71 with 17'' wheels

maybe, those are great tires, only complaint if I had to is they tend to kick up alotta, but I also never had to put my truck in 4wd unless I wanted to "play"

Because they are required to put tires on the vehicle, and its all about cost reduction. And this conversation with GM customer support should tell all someone needs to know about how GM feels about them:

Kelsey [1:45 PM]: Tires are not a warranted item normally.
