Ok, I get it. The Camaro was featured in the Transformer movie(s), but it doesn't mean the Camaro now has to look like one. Not a fan of the front end. And the rear seem to look like the current model.....with some slight changes

A 4cyl camaro.

.. I dont think I need to say anything else.

As a Camaro lover.. I love the c5, love the c4s, you can keep the c3.5 (93-97. I call them gen 3.5) c3s, and 2/1.

Not feelin a 4cyl C6 though.

You want an economy car buy a honda. Not a "sports car."

If they sell more cars, maybe they will get more money to develop the good stuff.

Last year Al oppenhauser assured the camaro crowd in Indy there would be no 4 cylinder as long as he was chief engineer. Guess he lost out :(

Then buy the 440hp V8 version :)

Looks good. Was expecting a bigger departure from what they already had. Looks more like a face lift than an all new model.

I agree, it doesn't seem like an all new model, more like a refresh, but I am glad to hear it got a little lighter. Even though we knew it would, still good to know.

The weights gonna be a big factor. If its ~3500 or less AND 440hp in the SS, thats gonna put it out ahead of the new stock 5.0 stangs that have been edging the C5s out (stock to stock.. all you gotta do on the SS is probably change an air filter to get back ahead of the ford guys.. but then ford motors never were as mod friendly as LSx motors.)

If there's any good news, the weight reduction is certainly it. The old C4 camaros were ~3200 pounds and 400whp would make them a beast. A body twisting "my doors wont close anymore" beast. I hope the C6 chassis is stiff.

There's not gonna be a T-top is there? That's something that'd get my attention.

T-Top would be bad ass if it returned

Absolutely. A 4 cylinder Camaro is good for the overall Camaro business case as it results in more sales volume, and more money to pour into R&D and special edition models. If the Camaro was restricted to a V8 only model, it wouldn't survive very long at the prices that everyone wants to pay for it.

Same deal with Porsche and their SUV's. As much as everyone thinks that Porsche SUV's are blasphemy, they are providing the income for the other R&D projects.

Car companies are in business to make money, and us arm chair enthusiasts who will only buy V8 models aren't enough sales volume to keep them in business. Sports cars and muscles cars can't do that on their own.
