I am wondering if it is just me or not.. So here goes, I don't listen to music really loud or with a huge amount of bass in it. That being said my truck radio sounds like something from K-mart, are the systems with the Bose any better and if so has anyone done a swap out for them. I know where a few wrecked 15's are and may venture into this if anyone has done it and it seemed to be worth while. My radio seems to be lacking on all the highs mids and there is no bass what so ever.

You can change the Treble, Mid-rainge and Bass like on most cars and there's also presets for different kind of music and a setting for Custom for however you want it. I think how you get to it is while you have the screen on music you hit menu and then tone settings. Then you can play around with how you like it. I have mine on Country since that's mostly what I listen to and it sounds good to me personally. I tried having it like Country is set but with Bass all the way up but when the bass hit good there was more of a rattle so I put it back on Country.

I have the none-Bose and also the Double cab like you and the factory system is actually great. I've also read on here that the Bose system in these new trucks aren't as good as they used to be so you may want to keep what you have or go aftermarket.

I can't elaborate much on the base model's stereo system.

I was very disappointed with the Bose system, it didn't seem to set itself apart...

Today actually, a friend drove my truck, dropped it off, I got in and my bluetooth started like normal, and sounded 100% different!

I'll ask what he did, but with the new range/depth/sound, its fully meeting my expectations.

Yesterday I would have said it was totally not worth it. Today, I would say if its resonably priced, go for it.

Awesome I'm going to go down and look at these wrecked ones if I can get all the speakers i'll get them and try them out. I'm very disappointed with the way mine sounds from the factory.

I have tried everything up down left and right to get them to sound decent in any way shape or form. Right now i just leave it off its so bad, maybe I got the messed up system it happens I know. I'm going to go look at the wrecked ones today I'll post pictures of the swap if I can get them all. =)

My stock system sounds great for what it is. In my younger days I use to be into the stereo stuff and would upgrade speakers and components. That being said, the audio in my 14 is great.

The absolute worst sounding stock system I have ever heard, was in my 2011 5.0 Mustang GT. It sounded freaking horrible!

Usually just switching out speakers in the doors will help and it will sound 1000000000000X better than the stock speakers.

the issue you might be experiencing is the bad radio reception. since you have a 2015 you do not have a HD radio so the quality is pretty bad. I had a 2015 rental and the radio was not great, very static-y and just poor quality all the way around. it was bad enough that even my wife said something about it.

Yep, my wife took the truck today to run around and came back and got her jeep said she couldn't stand the radio in it at all. Even had it on the satellite radio channels, that being said got the Bose speakers from a wrecked truck today for 100 bucks with me taking them out should help out a lot just have to have a day off to put them in now.

if it is just the poor radio reception then putting the bose speakers in will not help at all. have you plugged your phone / ipod / mp3 player in via the aux cord or usb and played from there? if you do it like that I bet you will be much more satisfied with the sound quality.

I am almost positive the speakers are not your problem, it's the radio itself.

Yes I have played from an sd card from an Ipod and from my samsung Note 4 and it all sounds the same terrible. Radio shack is going out of business so took it upon my self to go get Aux cords for all the devices we had to try them all =)

OK well new to the site. Coleman is what I go by and I had a 77 Scottsdale, 06 Silverado and about 6 weeks ago picked up a 14 Double cab Silverado 4wd LTZ. And as usual did my research after purchase?

Any who I as well do not have the Bose system (my 06 did and I miss it) but after talking to a local truck shop they informed me that had simple single cone, speakers. Got a flashlight and looked real close and they were right!

From what I can tell and talking to Crtuchfileds I can update to better quality 2 way speakers front and rear, So that is my plan for now. If u look on their website u can put in you truck specs and it will pull up what fits what. They are local to me (Charlottesville Va) But I am sure there are other reliable sources all over.

The HD switching on the radio is another issue to figure out but that's the way it be.

Had planned to drive the 06 for 10 years but got a good deal and made it 9 years, which be good is for me.

Have had only had 1 car in my 54 years of age, a 74 Camaro that my sister dumped on me but its where learned how to swap a cracked head and a lot of other stuff.

Also ride bikes First new anything was a 1981 black sportster, been thru some others and some Big Dogs, currently on a 12 Road King and Jim Beam.

Bike is in the garage. Jim Beam is right here!

Awright then

I'm upgrading from a 2011 Kia Sorento, that I traded a 2006 Silverado for. I have to say my 2014 Silverado has a pretty damn good system in it.

I mostly listen to Pandora and Podcasts over bluetooth from my phone, but the sound quality is much better than the Sorento, and 1000X better than the anemic, no bass '06 Silverado.
