Lower front spoiler

I recently broke my lower front spoiler backing down a curb and had to take it off because it completely broke in half. First, I can't believe that it is only held on with 2 screws, but that's another topic. My question is do I need this part? Does it do anything special or make a huge change in fuel mileage or something that I would want to replace it? The truck looks fine without it, but if there is a good reason to have it on there I will replace it. Thanks,

Mines been off for about a year and I haven't noticed any issues

Alot of people take them off. Mine's been off for a few years and didn't notice a difference in fuel mileage.

Took it off my old truck and never suffered any ill effects. My current truck being an older model, not sure if it ever had one but after 369k miles...I don't think it hurt not having one either.
