How many trucks DONT vibrate?

5 friends and myself have 14+ chevy's or gmc's. We have talked about it, and none of us or none of our friends friends know anybody with this issue. Percentage numbers must be pretty low. On that other poll thread, only 8 out of 600+ hate their trucks. Real numbers speak volumes, its a pretty darn low percentage.

I think its the cylinder deactivation thats causing the vibration issue in my truck. Once it hit 300 miles, it started to be noticable. Do keep in mind, the engine is basically missing the entire time its in V4, so its not really crazy that it can be felt. Still annoying though........

 

The AFM can sometimes be felt, but it is not truly missing in the same way that say a bad cylinder would. In AFM, both the valves are kept closed on the deactivated cylinders so there are no pumping losses as there would be if it were a bad cylinder.

If you want to eliminate AFM as the culprit, put the trans in M5 mode, this deactivates AFM entirely.

From what I have read, this issue has only happened on a select amount of our trucks and is not a huge problem to be worried about. I have the 2015 6.2 cc LTZ Max Trailering Package and no vibrating.

Just traded my very smooth 2014 LT for a very smooth 2015 LTZ. You can believe I took the 2015 for test drive on the interstate. Love the LTZ by the way.

Never a vibration and have 86K miles on her ...... 2014.
