2500HD Diesel Mileage

Just wondering what kind of mileage people are getting with their 2500HD Diesel?

I get 15.5-17 mpg around town and 20-22 mpg highway. Mine is all stock.

I'm getting about 12-13 in town and 21-22 on the highway. Very pleased.

Since new (17000 miles) I have averaged 16 per the DIC. Easily get 20 to 21 on hwy. Very pleased. Mileage drops a bit running winter blend fuel, and milage has improved through the break in process.

Like others have said, 21-22 on the highway and 13-14 around town. My best 50 miles according to the DIC is 25.

Towing my 4000 lb work trailer- tall and aerodynamics of a brick I get 14 mpg.

Since I've done all the work listed in my signature, I've been getting 17-18 MPG in the city. Haven't been on the highway for any significant miles.

My 25 mile commute to work that is a combo of Highway and stop and go traffic, I am averaging 15.7 in my truck daily. I'm happy with that considering I'm leveled, and drive with a heavy foot.

 

On the Highway, on a 3.5 hour trip to the Wisconsin Dells, I set the cruise at 75 mph, packed with 2 kids and the wife, I hit 26.2 mpg ! Very impressed with it. But in reality, I don't believe anyone of us bought a Silverado Diesel for Fuel Economy.

 

 

BTW, I am Tuned by Banks and have the Banks Cold Air kit too.

I should say that my "in-town" consists of one way stop and go of less than 3 miles, engine barely above cold. I'm sure that contributes to the lower mileage. Didn't want to give you the wrong idea.
