Anyone know how to circumvent the steering wheel lock on the new GMCs?

I saw a video on YouTube that shows drilling a small hole in base of lock mechanism. And removing a small spring but video does not state what year.....

No, I tow this truck and it's a PIA to screw around with putting it in accessory and having a charge wire hooked up to keep the battery charged. Even with a charge wire, my MH does not put out enough amp to keep the battery charged for more than 3 days....

 

So I figured if I removed the damn column lock I would not have to leave it in acc....
