6.2 SLT or 6.2 Denali

I have a 6.2 SLT on order, should be here in 4-6 weeks but my dealer called and said they have a 6.2 Denali available at 16% off. I never considered a Denali but at this price it could be cheaper than the SLT. I can't decide, they both have about the same options. Any reason to get one over the other?

imho, it depends on what you like on looks, and I believe the Denali has magnetic ride suspension and will definitely have better resale value someday as well as higher/better trim options e.g. color matched bumpers, different interior trim, etc (depending on what you ordered on your SLT)....

Unless you ordered a max tow, I'd probably switch to the Denali.

 

Also make sure with the Denali has the bed you want. Both the SLT and the Denali are available with standard or short box.

I like both - the Denali dash cluster is nicer if you ask me - and costs more

Pissed I settled on a 2016 SLT now. Bought one 2 weeks ago instead of getting the Denali because I figured the 20% off couldn't be beat. The 16% off the Denali puts it at $3k above what I paid which would have been worth it. Waited months before pulling the trigger. Figures.

The SLT Short Box I have on order has these options:

Crew Cab Premium Plus Package with enhanced drive alert package, Integrated Brake controller, Z71 and 6.2.

 

The Denali Short Box has these options:

Enhanced drive alert package, Integrated brake controller, Polished wheels and 6.2.

 

I have never driven either one I'm just hoping the ride is as nice as my 07 SLT. I've been keeping my trucks for 8-9 years so resale may not be a big issue.

-I can attest that the ride quality in the Denali w/Magneride is pretty dang good, even with the lower profile tires on the 22 inch wheels mine sports, it still impresses. So I am sure the standard 20 inch with more tire meat is even more comfortable of a ride.

-I also really like the Denali center digital gauge cluster, it's got some cool features.

-The color matched bumper looks nice, but it doesn't hold paint very well, large chips are not uncommon to show up weekly for me.

The 20% offer from GM is long gone, 16% is the new offer and it is only on select VIN's that GM gives the dealer to sell. Once the dealer sells out of those VIN's then GM will allow them to pick and chose VIN's that are in their current inventory.

As others state, SLT if you're seeking Max Tow package. It can be optioned comparable to Denali with the exception of the chrome and badging.

 

Denali if you're looking more for a sport vehicle and the trim, aka bling. The badging has goodwill and as you likely know, is a sub brand within the SUV and truck line. It's worked for GM and for customers.

I would go Denali, but that is just me. As many have said though, it is all about what YOU want in a truck.

This is off topic & have never used personally. But would look into something similar to this to protect the paint on the front.
