6.2 SLT or 6.2 Denali

As others state, SLT if you're seeking Max Tow package. It can be optioned comparable to Denali with the exception of the chrome and badging.

Denali if you're looking more for a sport vehicle and the trim, aka bling. The badging has goodwill and as you likely know, is a sub brand within the SUV and truck line. It's worked for GM and for customers.

Point I was hoping to make about max tow, is that it's features are not available on Denali.

(mirrors, gear ratio, heavy duty rear springs, enhanced cooling)

Denali ride and dash are only available on a Denali.

I don't care for the Denali grill but I like everything else about it. If the Denali could have the Max Trailering I would have ordered one but it doesn't come with it so I got a loaded SLT with 6.2 and Max Trailering. Now I have to wait 6 more weeks (hopefully not more) for it to arrive.

This is off topic & have never used personally. But would look into something similar to this to protect the paint on the front.

I actually have a suntek product wrapping the front except for the bumper currently. The dealer has offered to respray it in the spring (after the winter harshness), I will then wrap the bumper with the suntek film after it's painted in hopes to reduce the chipping.

Which brings up the point for OP, if you do get the Denali, get the front clear wrapped right away if you have the option. I didn't and waited too long, now I have got a Swiss cheese bumper, heh.

If they are saying they can match or beat the SLT pricing on a Denali... I'd say it's a no-brainer. Denali all the way.

I think the only thing I wouldn't like about the Denali are the paint chips on the bumper.

The ride of the Denali is great and I love the cluster. So far I have zero paint chips in my bumper (almost 7 months) but I'm not going down very many gravel or dirt roads. I'm sure I'll get one soon and then I'll just get some touchup paint.

Thanks for suggestions, I haven't made up my mind and I'm sure the Denali wont last long at 16% off.

I like the chrome bumpers on the SLT and the fact that I was able to order gray seats instead of black.

I do like the wheels better on the Denali but the grill would take some time for me to get used to.

You didn't drive one on the lot before ordering yours? You just ordered it blind?

I did drive a new 2016 Yukon XL that they had on the lot but I wasn't interested in the price! Yes, I ordered the Sierra purely on looks.......this will be my third new GMC pickup, each one has always been better than the last...not worried.

Well hopefully you love it as much as I love mine. If you can get the Denali for just a little more than the SLT, I would probably do that.

Depends on how much you need to compensate, if you're REALLY on the small side - get the Denali w/ 22"s in diamond white, if you can't afford the denali off the bat, but still have an infant dong - my recommendation is to settle for the SLT, but then you can get it LIFTED and at that point you'll be more than making up for any inadequacies!!!!

J/K - I opted for an all terrain 6.2 over the Denali - prefer the painted bumpers, don't like the "baller" wheels and grill etc. of the Denali, don't want magride because I want the truck leveled AND because the magride is $$$ if (when) the shocks need replacement.
