It works fine with my Pace Edwards Bedlocker. The above pictured extender is made to be used with covers.

I have the tuxedo lo pro, and when I called Amp I told them what cover I had. They said I would have to get another cover, but they gave me the dimensions of the extender to make sure they weren't giving out false information. I measured, and there was no way it would fit. It sucks as I really wanted one at the time.

That's a bummer, but isn't it possible to add spacers so the extender would clear the rails?

I was under the impression the extender is adjustable as far as width goes.

(Not having to install rails was one reason I went with the Extang Solid Fold 2.0)

Thanks for the replies, guys. Maybe I should mention that I have a '3-fold' ribbed soft tonneau (supplied by GM), sprayed-in liner plus a Bedrug. So lumber slats (2x4 or 6) might not fit/hold well in the groves. But this would certainly be the most practical option. I also have upper/lower hooks to secure a net of some kind.

The AMP extender is interesting in that it provides a dual function. Is it fairly easy to disconnect and remove when the full bed is required?

I THINK it would fit under my cover as the cover sits atop the bed rails.

I also like the modular GearOn divider/rail system available in the Colorado/Canyon. Anyone know if it will fit a full size?

I have a spray in liner as well, there is enough play in the grooves that a 2x6 or 8 will fit (I wouldn't go 2x4 as it is too small.

The AMP extender easily lifts out by rotating it 45 degrees.

Usually the fit problem is not due to height, as it is lower than the bed by a fair margin.

The issue is that it is designed to rotate inwards and in some situations a rail system may impede the rotation.

The video will show where you might have an issue.

The Gear On system is supposed to be made available for full size trucks now but I haven't seen a part number.

I saw it in the RedLine Silverado concept truck that was shown at the LA Auto show.

I have a 2x6 cut to fit the slots in the bed. I cut out a handle to make it easy to pull out. That is sufficient for 90% of my hauling, it's easy to remove and store if I have larger loads. I also keeps a bunch of bungee cords and will use the factory tiedowns and the handle to keep everything secure. I am also thinking of putting a few eyebolts into the 2x6 for additional tiedowns.

I have used the 2x6 in all the bedslots as well as the indents on the wheel arch (where it is a nifty little seat for the kiddos for tailgating.

Which Amp extender? They make 2 -- the "MAX" one that is larger and a "SPORT" one that is made to work with tonneaus:

When I called I honestly didn't know they had two different types. When they told me to measure the width between the rails, I did and they said nothing they had would work unless I got a different bed cover. I think I had to measure the height between the latch, and the floor of the bed too. So I left it at that. My boards have served me well so I can't really complain.

Not that I have experienced.

I used an extender all the time on my last truck and never had any issues.

I've only driven with the extender a few times over short distances with my new Silverado but I dont expect there to be any difference from my last truck.

I only drive on paved roads mostly though, here in So Cal.

They chew on the rug a bit but it works well.

They're foldable and stackable. You can stack a bunch of them folded and they don't take up much space; you can stack them when they're loaded heavily and they stay put.

If you have a shell, using those on top of a Cargo Glide makes using the bed much easier.

I use the cargo bar from harbor freight and Hitchmate cargo net/bag. Total investment $40. Later I added a heavy duty cargo bar behind it to keep cooler etc from moving around. I might do something different if I didn't have a bed cover.
