Tuesday morning I brought my truck in for

Recall Number: 2015396 HARSH SHIFT WHEN STARTING IN LOW TEMPERATURES, 2015389 TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH (TCC) SHUDDER.

My truck is a 2015 GMC crew cab 6.2l 8 speed

which I notice these problems at times. So I brought it in.

they gave me a new 2015 5.3 crew cab sle as a loner (no problem I got me some wheels)

So I had them to a oil change, tire rotation, and install my 2" leveling kit and do the alignment.

yesterday afternoon they call said everything is done but they will need to finish up the recall work in the am (today).

No problem I still got wheels to drive.

Then they call me this morning saying they shorted out my ecm some kind of way, they will have a new one come in tomorrow.

well I see what happens, damn I hope I dont have anything else go wrong with it.

Its my first new truck I bought and I really like this thing.

Dang you're lucky. No dealers around my area will touch a leveling kit. I called a few and they won't do it for warranty issues.

I have to either try it myself, pay someone $250+ just to install, or just no put one on...

yeah I asked a few times over there and once was told by a lady that they dont have the "tools" yet to do these but will soon. Im like its just hand tools. but anyway

they had a tech that had worked at a 4x4 shop. He ask about the brand first, which I had a rough country. He said no problem and they OKed the work with the head guy. so all good on the warranty.

my dealer sells trucks with lift kits and leveling kit right off the lot with warranties.

so they are charging me $80 for the alignment and $140 to install the kit. not bad for me, being I dont have the time to do it myself. too busy running a business and working full time for another company, plus wife and kid needing me all the time.

i think only free time I have to myself is eating lunch and taking a shower lol

Got my truck back from the dealer. I have to say they treated me very well, great service.

A new computer is in, they tuned the transmission and put a new trans harness in, leveling kit looks good. Still has some rake to it but that's fine since I tow with it. The truck shifts smooth and feels faster than before. Very pleased

I run a dealership... we install leveling kits all the time. No warranty issues should ever arise from a leveling kit. I mean, if something falls out in the front end a week after GM wouldn't look after that, it would be an obvious installer error... but as long as it's not an immediate problem, we warranty every component except the jobber part itself (and I've never seen the part itself ever fail, why would it?)

Not sure. I have to take it in for some work next week anyways. I'm going to ask again and see if I can convince them to install it for me.

Wouldn't you have had to pay GM to do it anyways? Why not just pay someone else to do it?

Any idea what trucks are affected by this recall?

The recall was for the 6.2 with 8 speed trans. trucks.

To fix the issues with the 8l90e transmissions

My dealer did my level when I bought the truck and warranty is still good
