F-150-gmc Sierra

So I just drove a 2014 f-150 with the 5.0 for about 2 hours. Not a bad truck, decent ride OK power. But I must say,my Sierra (in my option) is much nicer truck. Steers a lot easier, much better breaks and just over all much more user friendly. Anyone else driven a Ford lately? What do you think?

I have a 2015 Silverado 2wd and my dealership scratched my bumper so they sent me to enterprise to get a rental (paid for by Chevy) anyway they gave me a 2015 F150. Now my truck is a 5.3 6spd 3.42 and the rental is a 3.5 Eco boost 6 spd. No idea on the gearing. But overall I think my truck is much nicer.

The steering is kind of numb in the ford, I have bilstein 5100s on all four corners so I like how it's a bit stiffer than the stock ford.

The braking is sooo soft and spongy in the ford. It's soft but at the same time it brakes hard with lite pressure. I do not like the brakes at all on the ford. Chevy has a nice firm brake pedal that you can actually feel when you hit it.

Now the power, the 3.5 ecoboost is FAST! Now that being said.. I only have the 5.3. 355 hp and 388 Tq I believe? The ford has 350 ish Hp and 420 Tq. That's a big difference I really want to drive the 6.2. It would be a much more fair comparison. But, I do appreciate the responsiveness of the gas pedal on the ford. The Chevy is a little sluggish in my opinion when it comes to responsiveness. That's why so many guys get tunes.

Now the interior... 100% goes to Chevy. Both trucks are equally equipped no leather, bench seat, (LT vs XLT)

Overall, Chevy takes the win in my book! But I just appreciate quality and more importantly... America. Chevy and ford being the only American truck makers left. I love them both.

If you plan on keeping your current truck, a custom tune will eliminate the sluggishness. My truck is faster and more responsive with taller, wider, heavier tires than it was with the stock eco tires. No lazy throttle response.

I agree that the GM trucks are better than the ford... but to have that discussion here? Yeah, there won't be any bias at all, lol

A tune is sounding more and more appealing... But I want to keep my warranty

I felt same way. After a year and a half with no problems I decided to roll the dice. I figured that if it was going to blow an engine or transmission it would have happened by then.

My intune i2 arrived today and I tuned with 1200kms on my truck. It's a whole new truck. My 5.3 feels better than a stock 6.2 now

I drive a 2012 F150 with the 5.0 for my work truck and I really like it. I actually like it just as much as I do my 2014 Silvy but each have their pros and cons. The chevy has a nicer interior and DI 5.3 has a more linear power curve while the 5.0 likes to get its revs up before it dishes out the power. One thing I do like about my F150 is the throttle response is better and after 3 years and 70k miles it has not been in for any recalls, can't say that about my silvy. It did lose the tranny at 30k miles but so did another guy I work with who has the same truck. They were fixed under warranty but not without a fight. Ford blamed it on our brushguard/winch combo that was blocking need air flow. Our trucks were specked before the bids were put out so the dealership that sold them to us had no choice but to fix them. I still don't know for sure if the winch caused the problem because 2 other 12 model 150's we own have near 100k miles on them with no tranny problems. Surfing the web when it happened showed that quite a few 2012 f150 owners had transmission problems so who knows.

My brother has a 2010 F150xtr. I've been in it and drove it many times. I can't see what anybody would like in the Fords

The F150's seems to be cheaply made and their looks do absolutely nothing for me. A buddy of mine who owns a auto service centre loves the F150's. Spark plugs snapping off, rotting pot metal break controllers and what he calls green death to the wiring keeps me from ever considering one.

Sounds like your mechanic is full of it. I get a new company truck every 3 years or so and beat the crap out of them. I have had every make of half ton out there and I'll let you in on a little secret, they are all made as cheap as possible for the highest price they can get out of them. After 3 years and 100k miles all of our trucks start crapping out, just each make has their own areas they like to tear up more often than another make.

I don't know how each truck make and model has been treated that comes through his shop. I have worked for him helping out when he's really busy. The trucks that come through are usually a few years older than what your company trucks are and the F150's are well represented. More so than any other make. FWIW

Older trucks don't make that much of a difference. I have been doing what I do for a living for 20 years now and have had a bunch of different company trucks during that time and in 20 years one thing stays consistent, they all have their problems. For every mechanic that says he works on more Fords than Chevys there is just as many other mechanics who will say the opposite.

Well I have been driving my dad's 2014 150 5.0 crew fx4 for two weeks now, the radio and accessories are hands down better, the heated seats are a million times better, warm with 2 minutes even on remote start, my truck takes 20 minutes to get Luke warm, no HD radio drop out, no hard/confused/silly shifts from the tranny, it does turn worse, but he has the long bed, oh and the headlights work, another plus, I love my truck but if it was a year ago and if I drove his I may have reconsidered, I wish it was boating season so I could strap the boat to it,

Also worth mentioning the mileage is the same and no v4/v8 afm bull crap, and my truck still looks better hands down!!
