camcamaro1991 Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 Skip them, too expensive, poor value, extremely low knowledge, no Stainless steel welding/exhaust pipes available, low grade metal exhaust will rust within 1 year (yeah painted from day 1 is nice, not so nice after 1 year) I go to the lake a lot I am up under my vehicle always inspecting under chassis, Owners told me that tuned headers like (ARH were installed with catted y-pipe) doesn't add any power even with a corrected tune? WTF! I have had him repeat himself as I was dumb founded, he said they are worthless waste of money, I had them install exhaust on 2005 CCSB my truck and told them DO NOT WELD ANYTHING to the frame, yet they did it anyways the frame started to rust in those areas (I live TX). GM will void the frame if they weld to it. Didn't align my rear tips correctly, (one was clearly higher, even he measured it about 1 full inch off) then complained the entire time they had to adjust them. Extremely poor customer service & warranty work, you better off with a bolt on SS kit from Borla,Corsa, Magnaflow and no welding on the frame. On my 2013 I have been extremely happy with my Borla touring exhaust with resonated tips, super quite outside the truck and just enough growl inside the cab if that makes sense. I will be doing the same thing on my 2016 just a Borla GM bolt on unit.
Txjose Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 Not stainless. That is all. Sent from my Note 4 on Tapashit
Tony Bianco Posted March 26, 2016 Author Posted March 26, 2016 I'm always looking at other options. Who knows, if something can sway me to the something different then maybe I'll change my mind. Good points made in this thread and I appreciate all.
BigBlueLB756 Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Just my opinion, but.............. The sweetest sounding muffler using the stock stainless steel piping is...... The Jones Aero Turbine JT3030XL. 3" in/out, polished stainless steel. A voice even a wife could love. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Jones-Full-Boar-3-Turbine-Performance-Exhaust-Jt3030XL-Universal-Muffler-/171699889393?hash=item27fa1c64f1:g:TM4AAOSwstxU8Jmu&vxp=mtr But that's just my opinion.
Tony Bianco Posted March 26, 2016 Author Posted March 26, 2016 It sounds great! A little more aggressive than I want to go. That sound will make anyone's head turn, no doubt. (In a good way!).
camcamaro1991 Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Tow? I do and keeping the exhaust note down while towing keeps the wife from beating me once we arrive at the lake. So I added Borla resonated tips even to my touring muffler cat-back, the tips at first really quite it down, now they are a little more broken in sounds great. I did remove my Borla cans that came with the touring muffler as they had too much cabin drone. tips can make a noticeable difference, some food for thought.

'00SonomaZQ8 Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 Did you end up having them do your exhaust? I've been a fan of theirs on YouTube but YouTube doesn't tell the whole story I'm sure. They told me they could do full stainless and would accommodate me bringing in a pair of stainless Spintech 6000s to use with an X-pipe. I didn't get a quote for that though.

Zachlovesfood Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 Stainless is a must, especially in Texas where everything likes to rust. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I seriously doubt they are going to weld using stainless steel wire for their MIG machines, they use typical MIG mild steel wire and it will rust at all the weld spots even with cheap rattle can silver paint. They might have stainless steel exhaust pipe but they are going to charge you a super high premium unless that has changed recently.

I found a local shop to do the SAME set up for $525. From what I can tell I don't hear any difference whatsoever in the sound. Did go with the Magnaflow. Same exhaust to exit at stock location would have cost $225. Glad I checked with this particular shop. If you haven't received an answer from Kinney yet then I would doubt they'll be interested in installing any non in house parts.

For what Kinneys wanted to charge, you would have been better off installing the GM Borla system instead.
'00SonomaZQ8 Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 I'm probably just going to add the GM-Borla system to the deal when I get my truck. Between the realities of Kinney's pricing and quality and the Helicopter sound in V4 mode I'm not sure I want to take any chances.

Some vehicles sound pretty good w/ Borla while others not so much. The sound I have now is great and for the price, WTH. I plan on trading this truck in by the end of the year for another AT and decided I didn't want to drop too much into it. Besides, if I had gone with Kinneys the exhaust would have definitely been transplanted onto the new truck for additional cost.
