I noticed that the plastic pieces on the back of the cabs between the bed and cab are peeling at the top. These are rub strips that keep the rubber gasket from touching the paint. Has anyone had the dealer fix this? If so, how did they fix it? Remove the bed?

I just went outside to look and it looked like one corner of the driver side piece peeled off but it's not enough to worry about. I wouldn't worry about it too much unless it peels off so much that the piece on the cab is touching the bed.

Mine are too, I have no idea what they are for?

My guess would be that it's to stop the cab and bed from hitting or just touching when the frame twist which shouldn't be a big problem on these trucks since they're fully boxed and not a C-frame like they used to use.

Okay, I went out and looked at mine and see what you are talking about. Mine are fine but it is in the garage most of the time. I am pretty sure those are there for either aerodynamics or to prevent dust from flying around. They are to flimsy to protect anything. If mine was peeling I would just take them off.

They are there to "close" the gap between the cab and frame both visually and aerodynamically.

My driver side one is peeling at the top, noticed it a few weeks after I purchased the truck. Just one of those things that I said, meh that sucks, but not worth screwing with dealership.

Double sided tape was not the way to go with these. I suspect it will be one of those things where most of the K2 trucks will have them falling off when they are 5 years old or older. I again would just pull them off.

Mine were peeling off. During a visit for an oil change brought it up to my service adviser she had them replaced under warrantee. All they did was pulled the old ones off cleaned the contact area very well and put new ones on they come with sticky tape on them new. Not an issue since they fixed it.

Mine are doing this also on both sides. I bought the truck brand new in Feb. 2019...I mean I could understand if it was 10 years old, but it looks awful...Especially for a $40,000 truck...like why are we taping plastic strips to the back of the cab? Anyone have luck just removing them?

Mine are peeling as well. Both in the driver and passenger side. I just got a quote from the dealer $900 to replace them because they need to remove the bed in order to do so. I’m just buying the replacement plastic pieces from the dealer for $75 and trying to replace them myself without removing the bed
