Folding Hard Cover

I love the usability of the full topper on my truck, but wanting to try something else.

Im sure this has been beat to death but...looking at Extang, G4 Elite and Bakflip. Anyone have experience with the three? Im a musician, locking and waterproofing are a must. Being as waterproof as possible is priority one. My dad has the bakflip on his 07 2500, works well but leaks a touch and hasnt held up as well as I think it should have.

Thanks!

I have a g4 elite. Get a little water (nature of the beast) but no fold cover totes 100% waterproof. There are a couple spots where I think adding some weatherstripping or double sided foam tape would solve most of the water. Never more than a little bit in the first channel though. I bought it used so that could be a reason too.

Otherwise I love it. I like the 4 fold on a shorter bed, and the didn't like the back flip opening against the body and blocking the window. Also like you can open the front or back portions seperately.

It has been beat to death in this thread. Lot's of good information.

I ordered my new truck on 2/12/16. I took to reading that whole thread to help me get educated and make my decision so I was prepared with a decision by the time my truck was built.

I was coming from an '07 Avalanche. So an aftermarket cover was a whole new world.

I ultimately decided on the F-A-C G4 Elite. I am getting it installed next Friday.

I moved my Extang Solid Fold from my 08 that I had since the fall of 07 onto my 16 when I got her right after Valentine's Day. No leaks or issues on the 08, and so far so good on the 16.

Have the G4 elite, it is the best folding hard cover I've ever had. I get the same tiny leaks 1990 speaks of and I bought mine new. I'm sure I could stop them by sealing it up a bit better up front and using a different tailgate seal than the one it came with, but it's not an issue to me.

I had a Bakflip HD on my old 2015 sierra and it had a few little leaks, but I never cared. My new 2015 Silverado has a Bakflip VP and it is as dry as a bone in there. Very surprised.

Its still a truck so I really don't care, but very surprised

I am currently running the BAK revolver X2, it pretty water resistant going thru the car wash I'll only have a few small leaks. I would reccomend you checking it out really a good quality product.
