Who likes their 8 Speed?

I have considered air bags but truck works well as is, but may revisit in the future

it is also an NHT truck so the GVW is 7,900 and tow rated for 12,500

may I ask where you got the gvw 7,900 rating from?

Thought Id drop a line here for anyone interested. Ive had my truck at the dealership multiple times for torque converter shudder. It didnt develop a shudder until prob 15k miles. But from day one, the transmission always seemed a bit off. Sloppy shifting, shaking, ect, just weirdness. A few months ago, I had the TC replaced to address the shudder issue, but not a damn thing was fixed. Nothing. So I dropped it off last week following a stent in limp mode one day. Seems as though they hired a trans tech that actually knows what hes doing. He followed GMs recommendations and the shudder was never fixed. So FINALLY, GM agreed to give me a brand new Tranny. I picked my truck up a few hours ago and drove it 30 miles home and it drives like a totally different truck. NO SHUDDER, CRISP SHIFTS, RIGHT GEAR CHOICES.

Oh and no hesitation when putting it into gear like before either

My 2016 with the 6.2 does this same exact thing. Like it doesn't know I put it in drive. I've learned to just wait a few seconds before I try to drive off. Guess I dont always need to be in a hurry. Other than that, every once in a while if I let off and then gas it it will "hunt" for a gear but nothing loud or terrible. Overall I really like mine.

I have a 2016 5.3 8 speed with about 9k miles. Headed to the dealer next week. I've loved my 8 speed thus far. Some minor issues, but nothing that bugs me. I've recently had two shudder events. Both accelerating our of a corner and the truck won't shift and starts shaking terribly. Roads were getting icy so I was running in Auto 4wd. At first I thought it was traction control, but no light and too violent. Anyone else have this type of shuddering upon acceleration? Feels almost like a manual transmission stuck in a high gear bogging down.

Wow, that's quite a tow! Notice that you hail from NY. where did you go, Florida, maybe south Texas? Did you keep track of your mileage?

The fuel mileage really is amazing with these trucks. Played a big part in making me get another one instead of the diesel.

Found myself on the side of the freeway yesterday with a check engine light. Ended up being the high pressure fuel pump.
