Vinyl wrapped bowties

If you have wrapped your bowties I would like to know how the process went for you. Any tips? I have the vinyl and will probably do it this weekend if it warms up. I am concerned about the dimpled surface.

My truck is Iredescent Pearl and I may use plastidip white then coat it with pearlizer if this doesn't work out.

Thanks

I was worried too about the dimpled surface with vinyl so I ended up doing plasti-dip. 5 coats of matte black then 3 coats of the glossifier and it came out great.

I did mine just like this.

No problem with the vinyl sticking to the dimple surface?

I vinyl wrapped mine last week. So far, no issues. Of course, time will tell.

I installed the vinyls from the forum store about a month ago. Works great. Very easy. Instructions say to use heat. I did on the front and had a few issues so on the rear I heated the emblem a little first and it went on perfect. I like the idea of being able to peel it off if I ever want to change. post-155272-1463531996_thumb.jpg

I used the flat black vinyl wrap on the front and rear bowties just to see how it would turn out. I figured as cheap as the vinyl was that it wouldn't break the bank if I didn't like it. To my surprise it was rather easy to apply and it appears to be staying put for now (4 weeks). Here are a couple of pics....

I'm another person who went plastidip vs. vinyl. For the bowties I found it easier and looked clean and crisp. Even had some people ask if it was the factory black bowties!

With about 6 or so coasts of black plastidip, it turned out fantastic IMO. No worries about the dimples either.

I've used vinyl and plastidip both on emblems. For this vehicle I went with plastidip mostly because of the dimpled surface.
