Jacobo Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Hello, I'm new to this forum. I own Sierra 2500, 6.6L. I was thinking about using filter for my truck. Recently, when I took my truck to a care center, they recommended to upgrade with DPF service kit ( https://www.bcdiesel.ca/en/diesel-particulate-filter-dpf-retrofit-kit-66l-duramax) for better fuel economy and performance. I wish to know if anyone has tried it and yield any difference.
newdude Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 What year is your truck? That kit is only $600 cheaper than the OEM unit. And the OEM unit is the entire exhaust, DPF and back. If you have no problems, and there are tons of these trucks out there that haven't had to replace it yet, I'd leave it alone.
