Can't see enough from that one picture. The insurance companies have been repairing AND replacing bent frames.

If it's the frame that is bent between the cab and bed I think it'll be totalled.

Yup.

Front sub-frame can be sectioned, BUT if the rear frame is bent forward of the axle then your truck gets a full frame replacement.

Insurance companies replace frames all the time. Frame and labor will be around $8-9K cost. Need pics of the front end to see how bad it is.

IF is it not written off and IS repaired.

IMPORTANT: Tell your insurance company you want to go after depreciation of value. As soon as you have to check that box that says 'Has this vehicle ever been in an accident and repaired at a cost of over $2000' it is worth less. Most insurance companies will not do this by default but absolutely can claim it since legally speaking the person that hit you is liable for that depreciation because even if the truck looks brand new it never will be again.

IF it is written off:

IMMEDIATELY go and remove those tire/rims and anything else you added like the toneau(?) cover. Once the other insurance company takes possession of it they just bought it AS IS and you will never see those parts again.

Not being a smart azz, but just to clarify it is called Diminished Value. If they don't total the truck, make sure you ask for it.

Pretty much the bumper is pushed under the bed, forcing the space tire up into the bed. Bed is bent all to hell. I was pushed about six to seven feet. Tires are shot as well.

For some reason my photos are too big to upload

The legal term depends on what state you are in.

Got hit in the exact same place in my 2015 Colorado. It caused $26k worth of damage and it was written off, the body shop told me the biggest reason for the high cost was certain components were welded to the frame and not bolted.

I am hoping it is an open and closed case. Pretty much still recovering from a concussion.

You realize you guys are arguing over the same thing right? The two terms mean the same it just depends which you choose. Toemato, tomato.

If something has depreciated in value then it's value has diminished.

Did you read the definition? :shakehead:

The only reason I pointed it out was so the OP could ask the adjuster for the diminished value in writing. If he ask about depreciated value, the adjuster is under no obligation to calculate diminished value. While we both may be talking about the "same thing", he could end up leaving several thousand dollars on the table because he was not specific in his request.
