Spent a day and a half detailing her but she turned out better than I expected! Washed, clayed, polished, washed 2 times to get extra polish off everything, and waxed. And.... Now it's going to rain for 3 days here in Florida lol. At least i got a few good pictures! I used 3m Perfect it polish and would recommend everyone to use it!

That's why I always look at the weather forecast before I wash my truck. The first year I would wash it at least once a week and it never failed that I would have to go ona dirt or gravel road or something like that within the first couple of days after washing it. Seemed to happen with my '98 also, but I got to the point where I might wash that one once a year. I don't wash my '14 like I used too. I guess I got passed the brand new truck phase.

It rains almost every afternoon here during the summer so it's tough to keep a car clean anyways. We have this soon to be tropical storm coming in now which is why it has rained all day. I just got tired of looking at my truck and seeing those swirls! I just had to lol.

When we needed rain in Texas I washed the 2013 GMC 1500. If we really needed rain, I would also wax it but be sure to park in inside because waxing sometimes brings hail. With the 3500HD dually, it cost me $55 to have it hand washed  at the carwash, or about 2-1/2 hours of my time in the driveway. Same result - rain within a day or two.

Luckily a new carwash, Fender's, opened and their machine line will take duallys! Only $17 for the "everything" wash, so let it rain! I have had 4 black trucks so washing is just considered part of cost of ownership to me.

We go to Disney 2-3 times a year. We have a friend that works there and gives us free passes. My son is 2 1/2 now and every time we hit I4, he says were going to Micky's house lol. October is usually pretty dry so I think you'll be fine. Let me know when so I won't wash it!

First time for my 4 and 6 yr olds. They are excited

I can't keep my pickup clean for more than a few hours unless I don't drive it. So, all it gets is local car wash, and then, it is dusty by the time I get it home. Downside to living on rural gravel roads. I haven't waxed a vehicle since the 80's. I do get the Auto Armor paint protection service done to a new vehicle when I buy it though. All I ever do to a vehicle at home is hose off mud from the gravel roads when it is bad. My Cadillac, the same thing. It only gets local auto car wash. The only decent treatment my vehicles get are being garaged when not in use, and the garage is heated in winter.

So I was walking out of Wally world today and saw a guy walking around my truck... He was driving an 03/04 Duramax and couldn't tell me enough about how nice my truck is. At first I thought he may be trying to rip it off but then his wife started laughing from the passenger seat of their truck.

I MAKE/DEFINE the weather forecast when I wash my truck. The news site may say sunny with no chance of rain, but sure as hell a few hours after washing my truck, it starts to cloud up and will drop just enough rain to dirty things up again. Now I drive a white truck and don't give a damn if it rains or not
