Picked up my new 2017 Sierra SLT

Well today I traded in my 2014 Z71 LTZ that had just under 34000 miles on it. They gave me 33k for the trade which is not bad considering it needed new tires and brakes.

My new ride is a summit white 2017 Sierra SLT with the 6.2l. My first impressions are why did I wait so long to get the truck. So far I am actually getting about 1mpg better on the highway than I did with my 5.3. That was figured by hand since I had a 400 mile drive home.

I really am liking the dark ash interior and the Apple Car Play is a nice addition.

If anyone is looking for a deal on a new GMC you need to consider Everett GMC just outside of Little Rock, AR. It seriously was the easiest truck buying process that I have ever been through. The are a volume dealer and were the lowest price I could find around. I ended up getting about 15% msrp on my deal.

Congrats!

Needing brakes at 34000? Did you do a lot of towing? All of my previous GM trucks the OE pads and rotors lasted well about 85K but I never did any towing. Eventually I will have a 6.2!

Probably had another 10k left on them before they really needed to be replaced. I don't tow but am very hard on pads. I always have been and probably will be.

Same here could not pass up a deal on a 2016 6.2 Denali at 20% off MSRP July 4th sale. My old 2014 had 61000 miles and needed tires / brakes / heated and cooled seat repair and several other issues fixed. I just got tired of the hassle and the sluggish 5.3 and clunky 6 spd. Love this 6.2 8spd combo it really kicks. I had the GM Borla exhaust installed and it sounds as good as it looks. This Cocoa interior is friggin gorgeous....

My sales guy called me today about the recall. I guess the recall came out the day I bought the truck. They are going to send a guy down to pick my truck up and drive it 6 hours back to do the recall. Then of course they will bring it back to me. He said if they don't do it that way they will be looking a big fine from GM.

Yes it does have the blue lights in the radio.

It's the new front airbag one that came out last week. I was actually able to work it out where I can just take it to my local dealer for the service. My sales guy said GM was the one telling them that it needed to come back to Everett GMC then they decided as long is the work is done they don't care. Everett GMC said they will send me a $25 gift card for my trouble.

Yes it's and easy decision when you get more options but the payment and purchase price was lower on the 2016 then the 2014 was.
