I have the same problem. 2015 Yukon Denali. Condenser failure. They told me national backorder, no idea when they will get it in. I have taken to harassing GM on Twitter. This should either be a recall or a class action lawsuit.

It has been running about 4 weeks to get the newest designed part in. No need to start suing until GM stops picking up the repair bill. After that, file away.

Oreilly auto has murray condensers which would probably be just as good as a delco. I know people want the dealer to do it but if you cant get parts maybe its an alternative? and they show them for 147 dollars not 300. Murray makes a lot of a/c components so if your a diy person id go with that.

It's been 5 weeks. Nothing.

The Oreilly in my area told me that no store in the Houston area has a murray condenser as they are also on back order... that was what I was going to do but the dealer was the only place I was able to find in my area that had a condenser.

Warranty customers with a rental get top priority to get them out of the rent car on GM's dime.

When I brought the car in, they gave me a rental for a few days and then once everything was diagnosed they said that the warranty wouldn't pay for me to keep driving the rental while I waited for the part. I had to return the rental and pick up my Yukon. Been waiting ever since.

You should have told them to pound sand. They will get the rental back when the AC gets fixed. In the southern US, if the AC is not working, the vehicle is out of service.

Could everyone that is having condenser issues please report the problem to savercars.gov? You can call or fill it out online. They are the ones that investigate recalls. GM corporate will do absolutely nothing to help with this. Once you report your issue to safercars.gov the issue will be in investigated on the continuous issues with the condensers. Thank you! I filed mine today!

Is that just for "safety" issues? Why would nhtsa care about you being warm in your car? Unless you make a case that the defroster uses your ac to dry the air so if your defroster doesn't work then it's a safety issue.

No it's not they handle the complaints for these as well. I did mine over the phone with a representative. But you can also to it online. I thought it was just for safety issues as well at first.

I think I'll give them another week or so in good faith to fix mine. I'm at 4 weeks now

Just joined the forum because of this issue.

March 21, I purchased a 2014 Silverado LT Doublecab with 87,500 miles on it. Salesman told me that it needed a condenser and it would be $1400 and it would take three days to get it done. No problem, $1400 added to price of truck

Picked up truck March 24, nice and shiny, ready to go. Salesman handed me the keys. I drove off. First couple of days it was very cool out, so no need for air. But third day it was warm, so I turned on the air. It blew hot.

Went back to dealer, talked to salesman. "Oh, didn't service dept tell you the condenser was on back order?"

Long story short, it's been 9 weeks today since I bought truck, and when I called dealership today, same story: it's still on back order.

My previous Silverados, a 2002 and a 2006, were excellent trucks that I put a whole lot of miles on (250,000 on the '02 before I traded it). But right now, I don't know that I am too pleased with GM or the dealership where I bought the truck. It's a known issue and they are trying to act like this is the first time it's ever happened and they just don't know why it's still on back order.

This is a terrible first post, I know, but I drive 70 miles round trip to work and having no air really sucks.

    • I will admit I haven't experimented much with pressure drops beyond the numbers I put in and part of that is that the numbers I used are fairly low and then found out it would trigger regardless at that 35 psi. Having said that I had tried before had changed the placard pressures and being that I have a 1 ton set to 80 on the placard for the rear I believe it triggered close to 60, the front I don't recall now for sure but thought maybe it could get close to 45 from that factory 60 placard pressure. So I never did figure out if it was a number of psi from placard pressure to the alarm or a percentage of the total placard number as some figured it was like a 25% drop from placard pressure would trigger it. So as to try and answer your question, I believe I set the placard pressure on the front to 47 or so and while I run the front tires at 40, they have dipped below that some if its colder and I haven't put "winter air" in yet and never once have had the front alarm go off. I would say that the answer your looking for is no, that if you set your placard pressure to 45, you have a certain amount of room to drop below that pressure before the alarm will go off.    The pressures you decide to run in your truck, that ends up being what makes sense to you based on what your carrying in your truck or if towing, then have to bump them back up to something that will carry the load in the rear and the fronts typically left at the same pressure. It all comes down to that chart I put the link to and using an accurate roadside scale to be your guide, both unloaded and then loaded to know your minimum safe pressures.    I just wish GM would allow a person to change the readings for the tire pressures to the English system of pounds as I have to look at that goofy metric reading that will never ever jive in my head and will go over and change it just to figure out what they are if need be and then change it back.
    • That part I understand, that the dealer can do it. But I'm not understanding why updates that were available to the truck since it left the factory, or the dealership originally, would not still be available to it without dealer intervention.   I'm thinking along the lines of recalls. They stay available until they are completed. Why not updates as well, especially since some of those can be safety related also?
    • That's good to know, but I don't think I'll even be running them under 45 in the rear  unless it's on the sand or something but will only be for a short distance anyways!    I didn't read all the instructions in the booklet yet, but do you know let's say I set the rear psi on the placard to 45, will the warning light come on soon as it drops under 45 or is there a percentage it has to drop from the set value before the warning light is triggered?
    • That's bad.  Like, its probably destroying the stub axle the CV slides into.   Do you have a proper lift installed with differential lowering brackets?  Did you install AT4/Trail Boss factory CV axles?
    • Hot? New Jersey? Today? I was working on my old 2000 Silverado 1500 today. Believe me, it was boiling hot today. As it has been.
