You don't need headers at all. I ran an MP112 on an LS2 GTO for years without headers - ran perfectly fine. Don't let these clowns try to convince you that you need to go all-in when it is completely unnecessary. As a matter of fact, the supercharges are designed for generally stock systems if you use the supercharger manufacturer tune. These guys expect you to make everything a race car.

It's not a must have, but it helps. Forced induction puts in a lot more air in so you can only assume you have a lot more exhaust so headers would just help by flowing better. IF you're going to spend a few thousand on a supercharger then why not spend another $500 (roughly) for headers.

Ya stock as in stock internals. Doesn't mean it should be 100% stock on the outside to work better.

Does GM put headers on the EROD LSA? No, not necessary.

Well maybe that's because a cast manifold is cheaper to make and is good enough.... I also remember Toyota putting actual headers on the Tundra. Not sure if they still do it, but it wasn't necessary for them to do it but they did.

So a stock manifold is "good enough" and will work fine, but headers will just flow better which is what you want if you have forced induction.

He is not trying to make it work "better" and nor is he trying to get every last drop of power out of the block. He asked if he needed headers and the answer is a resounding NO!

If you read my comment to the OP I said it's not a must, but it helps. I also mentioned that if you're going to spend a few thousand on a supercharger then why not spend another $500 on headers.

You specifically quoted me on a second post so I directly responded to you.

Unless he is buying junk headers, they won't be $500.... More like $1200... Maybe he doesn't have the extra $1200 right now. Maybe he only budgeted for the supercharger.

Oohhh yeah, you and your lockable fuel door. ROFL. :rollin:

I've seen new shorty headers from big names for around 500. My first response was really telling you that when they say stock engines they mean stock internals. So they're not tuning it for stock manifolds like you're trying to say.

Ya I put lockable fuel door. I just put any "mod", accessory I added or anything I changed. Those are considered mods right? You know since mod is short for modifying. I'm not trying to say they are all major mods. At least I listed the stuff I've done. You don't even have a sig or even put what you drive. Plus at least it's an actual full replacement door and not some stick on BS. I guess I'm stupid for wanting to detour someone from messing with it so they don't try to steal gas or put anything in the tank.
