There would be a demand but nothing close to the 4 door tahoe yukon demand. I would guess 20%. However i think if built in lower quantities and advertised properly they would have no problem moving them.

I'd guess lower, something closer to regular cab volumes on current-gen Silverado and Sierra, which wavers right around the 10% mark.

As for the Bronco talk -- my understanding is it's not going to be a two-door SUV but an "Americanized" version of the Ranger-based Everest, which is a five-door (but body-on-frame) SUV. The closest approximation in the GM global portfolio would be the Thai-market Trailblazer. Really wish those would join the US portfolio, but completely understand why there isn't a completely solid business case for it.

I would trade my 15 AT for a 2 door full size Blazer/Tahoe/Jimmy/Yukon with the 6.2 V- 8. Older brother had a 97 Z- 71 2 door Tahoe for 9 years in Indigo Blue and I drove it whenever I had a chance. Great combination of interior room and maneuverability. If GM builds a 4X4 model with a 6.2 and prices it in the high 40's or low 50's sign me up.

i hate to say it , ,but the new ford bronco is bad ass.... i love the look.

The photos aren't real. They're all renderings or pics of a 12 year old concept vehicle. So we don't know the look yet.

It could be built in the high 30's easily if they left all the cushy options in the Caddy's.

Someone at GM needs a heads game, no reason to bundle the 6.2 with leather.

I'd take a 2 door with the max trailer package.

I feel that with a 6.2 and 2 doors less mid to high 40 to low 50 is what they would sticker for. Keep in mind 4 door Yukon/Tahoe 4wd SLE/LT models sticker in high 50 range so a couple of doors less will take about 6- 7 grand off price but than 2500 would get added back with the 6.2 engine. Agree that leather shouldn't be compulsory to get the big engine but I will take what they give me as long as I get a 6.2.

I don't see this happening. First by the time they design and develop one it will take a few years and who knows what the prices of gas will be and in return the demand for them. Truck demand only started when the price of gas was dropping. When i bought my truck in early 2014, over half the lot was v6 trucks and they tried to sell me one of them. I went by the lot a few months back for an oil change and it was almost all v8s.

Also the epa regulations are still in effect. The fleet average mpg have to / need to go up in the next few years to hit their goals. The companies have asked for a extension but I don't think that will happen nor should it.

So having another truck base will have an effect of the fleet average.

Even when it was above $6/gallon up here truck sales never slowed down, nor did suv sales. Fuel may cost more, still better off then buying a car.

Canada doesnt drive the North American truck market sales...never has and never will. Toyota reintroduced the FJ to much fanfare a few years back, how did it do in sales and is Toyota still building it? People always say they would buy it if they build it, we know that that is mostly false.

My point is you guys have no clue what expensive gas is. If you let the price of gas force you out of a truck, then chances are you had no business buying one in the first place.

When it was $6/gallon up here selling never crossed my mind. My truck is a necessity. Regardless of what fuel costs, that's all I will own.

We do, we just dont tolerate high prices like many parts of the world. Consumers here in the US drive the market based on gas prices, which is why there is a fine balance of building cars Americans want and keeping gas prices steady and low and why Canada pays more for gas, you you guys dont let gas prices sway your decisions as much. You guys accept high prices eventhough you have your own oil and gas; here politicians get voted out of office over soaring energy prices.

Oddly enough the truck market in Canada pales in comparison to the US. Heck the Tacoma sales # in the US outsells the #1 F150 in Canada by a health margin. The full sizes dwarf the full size sales in Canada too.

Well of course. USA is physically smaller with 10x the population. The sales difference is obvious.

Again, that is why Canada will never determine what GM, Ford ir Chrysler builds. If gas goes up too high here, gone will be the Bronco and other gas guzzling bohemouths, and you willing to pay $6/gallon will have nothing to do with that decision by the Big-3. Which was my initial point 5 posts back.

Sales up here and vehicles sold up here are not dictated by what's happens in USA. They are separate entities for a reason. GM Canada is entirely separate from GM USA.

    • 2013 5.3 still to this day calls for the PF48 filter.  Which as a 15psi bypass pressure.     There is a TSB, 17-NA-157 that talks about the PF-63 and PF-64 filters which have a higher bypass rating of 22psi.    TSB HERE - temp.xml   "Beginning in 2012, the oil pumps began to regulate main gallery feedback instead of pump out pressure. This means that the oil pump now does not begin to regulate until pressure is built up to the main gallery. This change reduces the amount of time it takes to provide oil to the engine bearing and lifters during extreme cold start conditions.  Main gallery feedback oil pump control systems are present on the following engine families which use Spin-on oil filters: Small Gas Engine (SGE), Large Gas Engine (LGE), High Feature (HFV6) Gen2 and Small Block Gen5 gasoline engines. These engines with the main gallery feedback oil pump control systems are factory built with an ACDelco® oil filters"   It also calls out what engines use those filters.  The gen 4 small blocks were not on that list (LMG, LC9, L9H, L92, L94, L20, L96).  Gen 5 small blocks use the higher pressure filter.
    • Do you know WHY the filter relief setting was increased to 22 psig?    When the new system goes into the second stage the pump volume ramps up considerably. It was found that the 15 psi filter bypass setting put the filter in bypass on a warm engine when the second stage was activated. Raising the filter bypass setting forced the filter to do what it designed to do. Filter. Preventing debris from circulating during high load, high rpm operation.    So next question is how did GM find this out? VLOM/lifter failures and a deep dive by Melling Corp.    Last question. Is it required? Look at it like this; a motor may be equipped with a rev limiter. But it only works if the set point in reached. That 22 psig setting only matters if the pressure differential across the filter media exceeds 15 psig during normal warm operation. Second stage kicks in around 3000-3500 rpm.    I can't answer your question because I don't know you and how you use the truck. But I think there is enough information here to let you decide for yourself. 😉
    • Probably not their first rodeo, so it should go as planned most likely.  Typically the service manager or tech doing the swap will put some seat time to shake it down after they get it all put back together.  We usually put 50-100mi before we hand them back so if something happens, its not after you get it.  A coolant leaks, oil leaks, a ground left off or loose, vibration, etc.     The new engines so far have been good?  There's been a couple that have popped out there again (the replacement engine) but most have been okay.
    • To me it honestly makes zero difference what filter you run. It's not a race engine, just a truck engine that's mostly bumming highways and it just needs a filter that filters oil.   The filter used to be a 7060 and the long version was a 7045. Now it's the newer updated filter that the K2XX trucks and newer run, the 100255 I believe if we are using napa numbers. Any of those filters is going to do the job.   I wouldn't overthink it, to me it makes no difference because those first filter numbers worked for 18+ years before the spec suddenly changed.
