Ford talking new Bronco, will GM counter with Blazer or Jimmy?

First, to the mods, putting this here, the Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade section is full of too many wuses. Back to topic, how sweet would a real 2 door full size Blazer/Jimmy be with modern V8 power? Removeable roof and all. My thought, build it on the 119" short truck chassis instead of the 116" Tahoe chassis.

Would be awesome but will not happen. Not enough market. Also if i am right the bronco will be a small bronco like the original or bronco 2 and based on the new ranger platform.

We can wish. I think GM might be more interested in bringing the trailblazer back if they want a truck based SUV, but market sales dont support. Maybe if gas places stay low.

It would be awesome, especially with a 6.2l option. Just like this minus the cab to bed gap.

Thanks for the pic. That is just a tease. Would look great and yes a 6.2 would complete the package. If they would build a 6.2 k5 slt i would be willing to pay 40-45.

Also i would be much happier with the truck front end on the yukon and tahoe.

Literally 0 demand for a 2 door SUV... but I agree with the statement about the truck front end.

The Bronco was more popular and would be more popular with the public. GM still has a shitty reputation they need to focus on fixing. Ford aint much better, but they are in a better position than GM.. IMO.

Yes, that's the idea except it would have a back seat. I like my DC, 6.5' bed, but sometimes the overall length just gets in the way. Hard to say what demand would be, two door cars are popular again. Add to it, I'd be all in on a DC short bed if they offered it, wacking 10" off overall length. I traded in my '02 Silverado DC 6.5' bed for '05 Avalanche, big factor was the shorter overall length.

On another note, that's an ARE cap? I like the full length windows.

There would be a demand but nothing close to the 4 door tahoe yukon demand. I would guess 20%. However i think if built in lower quantities and advertised properly they would have no problem moving them.

I agree. Look at the Wrangler - how many newer model Wrangler 2 doors do you see on the road compared to the 4 doors? Everything I've read says Jeep sells 70% 4 door models versus 30% 2 door.

Heck look how many Crew and DC model silverados are sold vs Regular Cab.

Unless its gonna have a removable top, a factory "lift", an available manual tranny, then Ford aint building another Bronco...they may be making a toughened up 2 door body on frame explorer, but not a BRONCO

Just like Toyota doesn't make an FJ - they make an ugly 2 door 4Runner.

No removable top? No Bronco no FJ.

You can take the top off the 4 door so why NOT get one (it doesn't even look that bad compared to the 2 door) - but again, no removable top, regardless of 4 or 2 door, = won't make a lick of difference to most "SUV" buyers. Removable top is key.
