I loved my truck...

Until I hit around 800 miles on it. Man... when I first got it, it drove like a Cadillac, now it shakes worse than Michael J Fox. I was really hoping my truck didn't have the case of the Chevy Shakes, but I think it does. When I go over 70, my center console shakes pretty bad. However I don't feel or see any shaking of the passenger seat like most people report.

Driving around town is horrible because every time it goes from V4 to V8, I feel a thump and hear a loud squeak. I heard the squeak comes from the exhaust valve. Going over a speed bump sounds and feels like I just drove off a tall sidewalk. I traded in my 2013 Ford Edge for this truck because it also had tons of problems.

I had a 2005 Silverado and that thing was amazing. Actually ran way smoother than this truck. Gotta say I'm disappointed with GM. I guess I will eventually take it to the dealership, but I am moving to Nevada next week and have no time to be without a vehicle. If anyone knows of a good Chevy dealership near Vegas please let me know. Though from what I've seen here, they won't do crap.

This will be my last American vehicle. I REALLY wanted to love this truck. I should have gone with the Toyota Tacoma.

With that being said, I ain't here to bitch, just wanted to share my story. I will keep the truck until its paid off then sell it.

Your truck has a full warranty and you should take it in to get it repaired. My 2015 Sierra rode like a Cadillac when I first brought it home a year ago and it still does. I owned a Cadillac for several years so I know how they ride!

Nice. Glad you got a great truck. I plan on taking it in, just really can't be without a vehicle for right now. I also don't think they will be able to fix it. From what I've read, GM still doesn't have a fix for the chevy shake.

The vibration could be a simple thing like tires. Someone (07softail I think) had the driveshaft trued up and said it fixed it.

All you can do is take it in and have them look at it. If they can't then go to another dealer.

My '14 still rides like a Cadi with 28,000 miles. But, I guess it does because I came from an '86 C10 and then a '98 Z71. The switch between V4 and V8 is seamless. Before the exhaust I only knew it was in V4 by looking at the dash. I've had my truck up to 98 mph (governed at 98) and no vibration anywhere.

Three of my friends have 2015 Silverados. Two report the shaking issue, one reports no problems at all. And none report the squeak when going from V4 to V8, but with a quick search, it looks like a very common problem with these trucks. Oh well, I'll have to take it in one day. Just sucks to feel this way with a vehicle with 1,100 miles on it.

Thanks for the replies Gents. I appreciate it.

That squeak is the flapper valve in the exhaust. I think it closes up to let less exhaust flow for when the truck is in V4 so the exhaust note doesn't change. Which really isn't a big deal on the factory exhaust since it makes the truck sound like a Prius with no sound. I didn't hear it, but I only had factory exhaust for 3 months. When I had the new exhaust put in I just had them remove everything from the muffler on back.

Whats strange is that some people have it, some people don't. I'm assuming all these stock exhausts on these trucks are the same, they should all do it I would think. Mine didn't do it till it hit around 700-800 miles.

Phone your salesperson and tell him your issues and your concern about being without a vehicle. You may find he or she may be able to help. It has worked for me in the past with previous vehicles. Some sales staff really see the value in customer satisfaction!

I will, but it'll have to wait till I'm moved in to Nevada.

I bought my 2014 with the full intentions of driving it until the wheels fall off. The more time that goes by, the more I notice little things that shouldn't be coming from a 50k dollar truck (Steering wheel squeaks, Seat feels like it's not bolted all the way down and shifts in turning). Granted it is a 2014 but it has less than 30k miles and has been babied all of that.

Needless to say I've unfortunately considered getting rid of it and going towards the Toyota side :/.

2014 with 37,000k on it drives perfect! If your looking for a cushy quite ride maybe you shouldn't be driving a truck! Its a placebo effect. Everyone comes on here reading the Horror stories and suddenly there trucks shakes, squeaks & clunks... Load up the bed and hook up a trailer and use it for what its for.

Nope, you're wrong. Ive driven trucks for many years, I know what they are and are not. An uncontrollable shake of the center console on a 2016 vehicle, is not normal. If my 2005 Silverado was smooth as butter, I'd expect a 2016 to at the least be equal to it. Search "Chevy shake" on YouTube and you tell me if those people are crazy.

Take it in to the dealer for work.

Pick up loaner vehicle to drive.

Problem solved. Lol

Apparently reading comprehension isn't your strong suit lol... I said I am in between move. Moving to NV next week. Won't be able to take it to dealership until I'm settled in over there. I'll report back.
